"why would they die faster for knowing?" In JJK there's a common binding vow ( a pact, like the one Sukuna and Yuji made back in the early episode) most sorcerers use, which is know as "revealing One's own hands". This BV functions by the sorcerer giving up the secrecy of his technique for a boost in power, range, speed of actvation or whatever. That's also a way for the mangaka to allow his characters to go on about their powers like they always do in shounen, but with an in-universe reason to do so.
To add on; this works because when you reveal your technique, you feel more negative emotions like fear because you're in more danger. And cursed energy is stronger the more intense your negative emotions.
As an example, Todo takes advantage of this by pretending to be fulfilling the pact and lying about his technique to catch Hanami by surprise. There's probably no reason for Todo to make this pact, since it would probably only affect his technique's range. Surprise factor is more significant.

When I first watched JJK about 3 years ago, I was hooked immediately. The story, the characters, the pacing, the dark tone, and the fights all captured me and reminded me of the shonen anime I used to watch as a young kid. Season 1 is such a treat, and I'm glad to hear you're gonna try to do the blu-ray versions of season 2. Even with a little bit more of a wait it's worth it for the removed dimming and ghosting due to the air time as well as updated art and animations that couldn't make the crunched schedule of s2. Also a side note that's somewhat important in the translations here: Yuji's poison resistance doesn't come from Sukuna, this was just a translation error that wasn't fixed even in the manga. The translation called Sukuna the "King of Curses and deadly poisons", however Sukuna himself is the/a poison and Yuji is able to resist, so for some reason Yuji has an inherent poison immunity alongside his crazy strength
Season finale is here!!! The double black flash with Nobara and Yuji is always super cool to see! The character developments between the trio at the end of this episode still hits so hard aaa. I really appreciate moments like those in this series

Really wish I could see S2 and the movie, but I guess I'll hold off due to not having crunchyroll. I binge watched the 1st season on Sunday to ignore a heartbreaking moment in my life (I had to give up 2 cats I was taking care of for the better part of 2 years) and I was not taking it well for 2-3 days I've been upset and needed a good escape so I started Jujutsu Kaisen. Then I binge watched this season AGAIN with your reactions and all this has been helping me cope with the sadness I'd been feeling, so thanks a lot and I'll be sure to check out other series reactions to ones I had the opportunity to finish myself.
Lots of pieces of information for sure in season 1 that now looking back with season 2 knowledge feel so much more impactful that I only realised due to having all the season 2 knowledge. Back then some of the stuff almost felt like "filler" to give bit more additional storytelling/world building/dialogue around scene to not feel so empty, but now with hindsight it is clear that it was important buildup that I might have been able to connect to the story if I had thoroughly analyzed every detail.
I loved S1 so much, it completely hooked me on JJK so it's been great sering your reaction to it, especially the change in Megumi. Csnt wait for you to watch the movie and S2 now! Don't leave us waiting too long!!!
Yeah JJK S1 gave us so many likeable characters and first time watching my list of favourites would shuffle around. Nanami, Yuuji & Todo are my top 3, with Mahito as my favorite villain in S1 and Nobara after the finale always bumps of Fushiguro in top 5. S1 is really good.
If you think about it, Nobara's technique is actually pretty horrifying. Blood, hair, nail clippings - she can use all of it to deal damage to her opponent. And losing body parts is basically an instant loss, since the strength of her technique scales with the value of the lost part she uses to activate it. It's a bit like Nanami's Ratio technique, depending on the conditions, she can deal a great deal of damage even to those that would be stronger than her in terms of raw cursed energy output. Also, to be able to not only land a Black Flash, but do it *in perfect sync* with Itadori, is something you wouldn't think anyone but Todo is able to do at this point in the show.
Now that you say it, Nanami and her would basically be the PERFECT team. He chops of a body part and forces the enemy away, she uses Resonance to finish it off. Also, Nobara technically has two points of contact: Hammer and nail and nail and target. Making her Black Flash even more impressive in my mind.
By the way, Choso did care about his brother's death, his brothers are actually the only thing that mattered to him because he was sealed inside a cursed object for 250 years with nobody to talk to but his brothers, and now he wants revenge on nobara and Itadori because they took the one thing that matters most to him

I will try my best to explain the power system now... Basicaly the whole thing is based on a risk and reward system - the more you sacrifice, the stronger you get. Exposing your techniqe to enemy willingly puts you at a disadvantage and so your damage output is increased, becaus they can now develop a counter to your stuff... It is literally a pact of " I give you a chance to win , so you lower your guard" in a sense... Those pacts can also be forced upon you since birth, the they are reffered to as a Heavenly Restriction , and you as a person can not alter it or change the result of it in any way ( think Mechamaru who lost ability to walk and deals with immense pain on daily basis, but was granted immense energy and now he can control his puppets all over the entire country as oppose to it being limited to like maybe a bloch or two). This is not to say you can not be powerfull whithout that. If your techiqe is strong by itself then it is of course unnesceserry. Think of this system as an act of balancing on a platform that is on a thin needle - strong thechniqe without sacrifices = stable platform that gives you a bit of wiggle room With sacrifice= smaller platform , but instead of wood it is magnet so it sticks to needle so you only worry about balancing yourself... of course if you overdo it and its too small you WILL fall, so it is a nice balancig act.
