Let me add a bit to this: Self-confidence is important, but actual confidence - which is a whole level of growth above self-confidence - is another topic entirely and takes decades to develop. There is no shortcut to it, it requires lots of life experience and personal growth gained through lessons learned through mistakes, failures and losses - and constantly getting up on your feet again. Confidence radiates very differently in a room than mere self-confidence and people pick up on it very differently, too. Most immature men, however, will mistake their ego, big mouth and arrogance for (self-)confidence. (Several comments further down are proof of that.)
@@winfriedmaus Indeed, I get it. But still, confidence alone I find it a bit disconnected and vague, some kind of subject seems lacking. Confidence in the life experience I have gained, confidence in my real capabilities, confidence that makes one immutable against ill-intended criticisms and ill-will, something in this vein I find it more complete. However, self-confidence can extremely easily be confused with arrogance, that is true allright. I guess the more inmature the mind, the more easily this happens. Arrogant people are by no means immutable against any criticism whatsoever, for instance.
Competence is the most important thing. It's the source of confidence.

I don't think these qualities do matter in real life....
I have observed that, women tend to get attracted & stay loyal to abusive guys only.
These guys make them cry, they don't add any value in life, just selfishly use women...yet women prefer such abusive guys over guys with above said qualities.
I have lost faith in, treating a woman right and being a high value man. It serves no purpose in life, except for making oneself exhausted, friend zoned, outcast and lonely.
