- It is time for bird photography in Scotland: Ravens. In the Scottish mountains I got the chance to photograph a couple of Ravens. As I was on a hike, I did not carry my full frame gear. But luckily, I had my Sony RX10 with me, so I was able to make a few photos I am really happy with... Oh, and the ravens on that castle ruin! Well, see for yourself ;)

Kilchurn Castle, one of my favourite places and lovely on a still day for reflections. Love the ravens too.

Beautiful, i keep forgetting just how stunning it is not far from my home, Loch Awe is an amazing place and well worth a visit even if it is only for a view of the Castle and the old Kirk.

Color did not add anything to the castle photos... So I decided to make those B&W. On my website another filtered version of the photo with the calling raven :)

I love Ravens, I think they are so cool looking and big birds. Very smart also. You showed some Kingfishers awhile ago and I had mentioned I had not seen one yet, wasn't sure if they were in my area. And you mentioned they are pretty much everywhere. Well, I finally saw my first one here in the mid west yesterday. It was a Belted Kingfisher. Just thought I would share that, it was so exciting to see it. :)

We don't have ravens here in Florida but I always loved them back in Europe. Beautiful video!

Ravens, such magnificent birds and difficult to get decent images of, both because they are generally such wary birds and photographically difficult to get good exposure, especially against bright sky. Once again you have done a top job. Like a previous comment I too really like the first B&W images. The very first image of the bird framed by the castle I find particularly pleasing. Take care.

Yeah I was so happy I decided to carry that camera all the way up... And at the castle, how cool was that! Personally I really liked the ravens in the mountains, but I see a trend that the castle photos are favoured by you guys :)
@@weylintracking-worldwide the birds in the mountains are excellent too Jeroen and I really like them. However, there is something quite mystical and dare I say foreboding about a Raven that really lends itself to the B&W treatment. Particularly of course when it's paired to a man made scenario like a ruined castle.
