Nice guitar, great voice and beautiful song. Sad though. At 75 I know the end is not far off. Whether it's I or my angel first, it's hoorifying to contemplate, so I try not to. On another note, you are the first person, other than me, to note how a guitar smells. I play my Dad's '47 Gibson most every night. It smells like him. Before I put it in the case, I hold it close to my face, close my eyes, take a deep breath and whisper "Thanks Dad!" Shalom/gw
Make that three, I got a Yairi DYM60 just the other day and it smells great!
I'll be the fourth! Each of my Art & Lutherie smells like deep woods, Canadian forest. Which reminds me of Old Spice, which reminds me of my Dad.
I think Yamaha produces dollar-for-dollar the best guitars, and I will die on that hill. Come at me bro.
Lol, OK.
Its yen for yen, clever trousers!
;-)
reliably so
Easily every time.

No argument here. I have a $250 1990's Yamaha DW-5S and an $1100 2007 Martin D-35 (good deal). The Yamaha is good enough.
Parlors should be 12-fret, IMO. 14-fret makes them more neck-heavy and gives less bass response.
Too bad Yamaha doesn’t make 12 fret to the body because I’m hunting for a 12 fret body acoustic guitar, however, I know they make great sounding acoustic guitars, I was blessed one day to come across a perfectly close to newYamaha acoustic guitar thrown away on the curb near my house, the intonation is close to perfect and because of this guitar my playing evolved into a style of my own.
Yes, to be called a parlor it should be 12 frets to the body.
One of the most impressive acoustics under $600.00 I ever played was a Recording King. It was fantastic. I put it back and went to grab a cable and some strings and it was gone when I got back in 10 minutes.
dang missed opportunity!
Thumbs up for your avatar. "Gentlemen, you can't fight here; this is the war room!"
Frets made of “white copper material”? Perhaps a bad translation.
Yamaha and Eastman have solid wood small bodied instruments with piezo for just $30-50 more.
theres only one thing i like more than guitar, guitar players who sings.
Thanks so much!
Wow Sean your blessed ! So many Guitar manufactures give you free guitars ! How many guitars do you have now ! Where do you store them all ? Nice demo and nice Parlor guitar !
For what it’s worth , which is not much. The guitar playing is so good it overshadows the storytelling of the song. Maybe simplify during the verses which is hard to say because the guitar playing sounds so good.
thanks for the feedback!
Wow that thing is really special. Great tones all around.
A better option for around $500 might be the Martin LXK2 Little Martin.
Actually the Dr10Jr is my fav. Not quite as small, but a great sound.
A fellow played that little Martin at an open mic last night and it sounded great!
@@mt-qc2qhAgree! Tried a used d10jr. loved the tone and playability, but neck angle was off. Scared me away😮.
Yeah I have a Martin D16E, and it sounds great, but I am currently selling it because I played a Yamaha at guitar center and was super impressed, playability action and neck size was better for me..the Martin still sounds incredible.. so playability and action Yamaha wins, sound wise Martin but not by a ton.
I really like the ornate fret inlays! Makes guitar appear to be a more expensive model or brand!😊
I like it. Unfortunately i dont have a parlor to play it in.😢
Sean, have you any experience playing a Zager guitar? I have played one that my brother has. The Fivcil guitar you are playing, in this video, appears to me to have similarities to what the Zager has in playability, appearance, and tone. I hope you have played the Zager so you can tell me your comparison. I loved your song
Sounds beautiful, reminds me of a Taylor. However, the show stopper for me would be the placement of the fret markers. Congress should pass a law making the placement of fret markers standard across all brands.
Looks like a songwriter I’d take to the beach . Sounds great to me. Sounds like the kind of tune that calls for delays on vocals.
are those sticker of Mao ?
😆😆😆
Chinese Communist Postage ?
They are called "Postage Stamps" you modern ignoramus!!!
I'd be interested to know a few facts - such as what is the width of the neck at the nut? Are these guitars made in China? Are they available in Europe/UK? Do some of their guitars come with Cedar tops? Do some of their guitars come with Mahogany tops? Do they have scalloped bracings?
1. The nut width is 44 mm.
2. Yes, it's designed and manufactured in China. I've seen lots of folks concern about this. Will post a blog to clarify few things.
3. Yes, we provide free shipping to UK.
4&5. Currently, we only provides guitars with sitka spruce and adirondack top.
5. Fivcil Mini uses scalloped bracings.
@@Fivcil Thanks very much for the prompt reply and information.
I like how the company went into some distinguishing detail on their website. The nut and saddle are cow bone. With a lifetime warranty, they are confident that their units will not produce belly bulge over time and this is huge. Although representing that their lower end model is HPL, the company did not reference whether back and sides on this model is solid or also HPL. Appears that the company employs natural drying vs artificial drying techniques.
Moosic!
@@KenSwiatek 🤭
ONLY Fivcil S1(our lower end model in this case) uses African Mahogany Laminate on the back. Rest of all guitars use solid wood top, side, and back. We're not an established brands like Martin and Taylor that can sell guitars over $500 with HPL. But thanks for pointing it out, will change the description on product page asap.
For for the drying method, we know it's vital for the stability of the guitar. That's why we choose natural air-drying. And it's counted by the date we placed it on our warehouse, not the date lumber suppliers' claimed.
@@Fivcil Credit to you for this response Fivcil and putting a sample guitar for review in the trusted hands of Sean Daniel. Great choice!
Could not hear him enunciate the name of the guitar from China. ( was clear on singing his song and pretty good ) never heard him give the price of the guitar that I don’t know the name of.
What guitar would you suggest for intermediate percussion fingerstyle playing that won't cost a fortune?
At $570, I'd get a Taylor GS Mini Mahogany for the extra $30 lol
Looks nice! My vintage parlor has a fretboard that hits the body at the 12th fret, and that's my least favorite thing about it...nice playing, as always!
Thanks for the unboxing and demo. Great song btw.
Wow , I checked and I had the video playing at normal speed. It really seemed like it was on fast foward. Lots of energy! Hmm.
Sounds like a guitar made in China. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Tinny and hollow to me
@@ForzaLucas14 I'm hearing the same.
Same here
Great new song. Guitar sounds pretty good too!!
Thanks Joe!
That does look a nice little box for sure. That song though? I predict poolside and local lounge performers will soon be singing that everywhere.
Ive had dozens of acoustic guitars in my long life. Yamaha is hands down the best value and quality for my money. The "parlor" guitar is great for the parlor couch, but even the best fall short of tonal beauty. The song is better served with a bigger box.
It sounds fantastic!
Thanks so much!
Song belongs on a Disney movie. Can’t dance to it but the hero in the film it’s a possible fit.
Would make a great travel guitar, great tone etc. Would be a great writers go to.
Great song, Sean. That is a pretty decent guitar out of box!
Parlour guitars will always tend to sound tiny to me, and I would rather have a bigger bodied acoustic that had some resonance in the sound.
My last purchase from Orangewood was disappointing and would not recommend them. The guitar arrived in poor condition and when I contacted customer service they ignored me. Save your money for better.
Was that Gordon Lightfoot at the beginning?
Cow bone bridge pins.
How to build an acoustic guitar. Step 1 Buy a cow. Step 2 Wait.
😂What would think will be a better translation? Because it's indeed polished from cow bones, not plastic or ebony.
@@Fivcil I've even seen bridge pins made from Mammoth bones. Bone is better than plastic.
Nice little guitar for the $$. I favor 00 , 14 fret guitars.🎸🎸🎸
beautiful song. i got feels near the end.
Sometimes I wonder why I waste my time making guitar videos on TH-cam lol. Just my contemplation of the week I guess. As a parlor, that thing sounds really nice.
The cream of the crop.
OOOoooo Yeaaaa.
TITO SANTANA!!!!
Sounds great, I wonder if they have lefty models.
If you're willing to wait extra 2-3 months, we can make make one for you. Feel free to contact us.
Beautiful song
Beautiful
“Cream of the crop , baby!”
Its pretty like the gloss.
Guitar center used gear can get you a good deal. Yamaha , ovation takamine . Thanks
I bought my son a Martin Mini E used for 450. They had a Takamine used for about a hundred more. Hope I didn't make a mistake. They had another guitar with a rounded emblem on the top that caused them to get sued. It's was out of the 70's. Martin had sued them. Anyone know that brand?
Stick to my Yamahas
You had me at Randy Savage wrestling promos. #creamofthecrop
Cup of coffee in the big time!
Takamine is great, as well as Ibanez:)
Cool guitar. Do you know the scale?
The scale length for Fivcil Mini is 25 inches, or 635 mm
My Mackenzie and Marr Riverboat is the best guitar, other than $5000+ guitars, that I’ve played.
I'd rather an epiphone texan
Is it solid wood on the sides or laminate ?
Sam. It's solid wood top, side, and back.
@@Fivcil what a deal!
what model is that guitar
It's Fivcil Mini from us😁

Yamaha. Buy one set it up play it forever
Why on earth are you singing on an acoustic guitar demo? 🤣
Oddly perhaps I've seen lots of people do that. Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Johnny Cash, some chicks too, you should check them out .... 😆
Macho Man hehe.
Lese lese keno 😂
Action , look , and feel .... 👍 ...... sound ...... 👎 .
Definitely made in China. You can look it up.
Lovely song, nice playing, I hope it's not autobiographical, you're too young for that kind of sh1t.....
Is this a chinese guitar. Please stop buying chinese guitars.
Yamaha fsx5 red label baby.... all the way
That's a wonderful instrument and is on my wish list, but that is a more pricey instrument. The FG3 would be closer, but the price comparable yamaha competition for this brand would be the LL6
Someone got a free guitar. That thing sounded terrible.
It's a cheapish pocket guitar, not bad for what it is.
