They once tried to make an NES game of the original Street Fighter. It looked kinda like Technōs Japan's Double Dragon (Sō Setsu Ryū in Japan) for the NES, but it was scrapped for some reason and replaced with a difficult game that nobody asked for known only as Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight. Game Boy ports are even better though.
I would love to know who developed this. It's a long standing mystery. Whoever it was, they were an excellent programmer. Of all the fighting games on the NES, this is easily my favorite. It's a shame the music is generic and the 2 player mode is butchered. Great NES game overall.
MK 2 special is a good game, easily the best MK port for the NES and I like it a lot, but since I found that you can get people stuck in and endless grab with no way to escape, it killed the fun a little for me. I never found any cheap bugs in the fighting like that in SF3. Still, MK 2 special is very impressive for what it is.
Oh yes, you can kill opponent in MK2 very easily and cheap, so if you play it with a friend, you need to set some rules. But i got more fun while playing MK2, than SF3. AI too relentless in SF3.

These graphics are really impressive, with the multicoloured sprites. The music really isn’t. Gameplay is ok for the NES but nothing special. I’d love to see a fanmade improvement hack
I have this game. It's the same on the one I own. Can you try if you press UP + Start? It will insta drain Player 2 HP. Also, the move set need to be only done once when you got it to work. But this only on the side facing your opponent. Like for Bison's Psycho Crusher, after doing the command just motion Forward + Punch and you can do this repeatedly. Just time the end of the move. When you change position just redo the button for the move and press the same buttons when you face the opponent. The same is true for Blanka. For Ken, Sagat snd Ryu, the same after doing the Shoryuken move just use Forward + Punch. There is an exception for projectiles that it is manually done the same for Vega that you need to do the inputs. For Guile's Flash Kick, Down (3 secs) then UP. Then just spam UP + Kick and you're good. Even if you stop you can do the repeated moves but avoid getting hit. Don't know if on emulators it will work. I have the physical copy before and the moves work. Sorry for the long post/reply just surprised seeing this and someone else has one. 😁

One neat trick against a CPU Chun-Li or Blanka: if your 2nd controller has a turbo function (most FamiCom controllers do), you can actually control the opponent by holding the turbo kick (Hyakuretsukyaku) or punch (Electric Thunder) which would render them defenseless. You (the player) can then spam projectiles to death.

I had this game as a kid so the music gives me nostalgia, I think I prefer as it is.
Somebody make a remake to pc adding supers like SSF2T plus improving the combo system, but keeping same graphics!

This fighting your favourite? I liked "Mortal Kombat II Special" more. Well, but i had it as a kid, so maybe it is nostalgia talking.

This game is the closest NES port of Street Fighter 2 gameplay wise, and the colours of the characters aren't as limited here unlike other bootlegs.
