    Hi, you're my favorite advanced painting level tutorialist. Nmm has always been a mystery and more of a personal preference on colour choice but I love how you explain it and why you decide how to do it, keep up the emperor's work!!!

    I've spent a solid month trying to learn as much as I can about painting NMM, and your videos have been extremely helpful. I have also been looking into true metallic metals, and weighing my options between the two. I then had a thought, what would it look like to use the techniques of painting nonmetallic metals with the use of artificial shadows and artificial highlights, except using metallic paints. For instance instead of using black, shades of grey, and white for silver, one would use the same style but with a dark nearly black gunmetal, shades of silver, and highlight with a type of platinum or pearl metallic. From what I have seen true metallic metals rely allot on the metallic paint itself to give the shine effect often giving it a rough-looking surface you would expect from an unpolished piece of metal like a common kitchen knife, while nonmetallic metals seem to focus on replicating the shine of a mirror. I haven't seen anything that really tries to do this and after I learn how to paint normal nonmetallic to a degree I am comfortable with I will be attempting to try it and see how it turns out.

    Hi, just wanted to say thank for a good content and your hard work,
    do you prethin your paints in bottles? from watching your videos i realised that you are very neat with ur pallete and your *blobs* if thats even a thing.
    I always make a mess when i thin them with on my pallete i take up so much space.
    I hope my question is clear, thanks again!

    • @trovarion
      @trovarion  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      thanks a lot for your kind words! i don't prethin, no. take up as much space as you need on the palette :) all of these things are so personal and some mix more crazy and some use their palettes more neat. it's just another tool that can be used in various ways.
      To me it sound like you are still trying to find the consistency of paint that works for you and experiment with how much water you need to add. that's perfectly fine and a learning process you dont need to worry about.
      Me, I have more practice with that and I know exactly how much water to add for what I need. maybe that explains it?

    • @trovarion

      @@jimmygallagher9843 you can definitely use grey as the basecolor for the "white" parts and then highlight the edges with white or by mixing white in. and if you want to go the extra mile paint some shades/shadows. it will have a great effect :)

    I am so confused on how people manage to get their paints to a smooth consistency, for me they’re always either super chalky and clumpy or just a wash that flows into all the grooves instead of going on raised surfaces
