Great advantage having 4 people to spread the weight around. I realize the Pelican cases are great to protect your items. However, they are heavy compared to some other types of luggage. There could be same weight saving there. Have a great time in Bonaire!
This is very true @jeffconley6366, you can definitely save weight in other areas. Our Fiji trip this past year, we used softer luggage for that very reason.
Hello @12547130, unfortunately, Pelican only makes the lid organizers for the larger Protector series. For the Pelican Air 1615 we use these right here. www.amazon.com/CVPKG-Presents-Pelican-1615-Organizer/dp/B07YP2R695/ref=sr_1_3?crid=31MM85XZQNU87&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.12nJKGMmY7e_h_96Ujgl5Cn9xifp-m_ZvgKgzJkV-VBQwzKenAnoXEkhrpDMOaIPVKJKL3qLr3YLNI9F8BwKeta0pmCOpafw7honMHMzu5TE-b-n9LarY2Y9ynTTZdazhOI0K67E55BYoDQFr0_piGZdwIo5JE8TamSMjlud9r-qehM-NYbsCWDeYGMZNZlv18YE7u-y6rfz6aqjfnGEMA_gs6SX7483FG4ZSPubxXQ.DxlKD-XOyw87SKWhc8LrMc05_ndDCn5Jw0JyRubnNEo&dib_tag=se&keywords=pelican+air+1615+lid+organizer&qid=1737739759&sprefix=pelican+air+1615+lid+org%2Caps%2C93&sr=8-3
Good tip about leaving some leeway on weights. ive seen airline scales be very inaccurate. I was an aircraft mechanic for 25+ years. I would weigh my gear on a calibrated scale so i knew its exact weight. I got to the airport and they said i was 15+lbs overweight and wanted to charge a heavy bag fee. I got it waived when i told them i had just weighed it. What regs are you using?
Hello @MysticalDragon73, thankfully, I have never had any issues with airlines trying to over charge me or say that my luggage was different than what I weighed it. The regulators I am using on this trip are, 2 Mares 28X's with Dual Adj Second Stages, and 2 Mares XR Gauges for Dual Tank Sidemount. A Mares 52X First Stage with 2 Dual Adjustable Second Stages and a Mares XR Gauge for Single Tank Sidemount. And my deco regulator is a Mares 52X First Stage with a VR Second Stage and a Mares XR Gauge.
@@LakeHickoryScuba Thank you. As a new diver I like to hear what experienced divers use and why. Especially when they have their own shop. pouring over your videos its clear that you know what you are doing. That you care about the community and give back to it. Its greatly appreciated.
Staying under the limit is easy when you're traveling with four and only diving with two. Traveling solo and staying under the limit is far more tricky.
@@bloodymarvelous4790 I can totally relate. I do take a personal item, carry on, and usually check one bag now. Thinking of going to a backplate and wing, or even side mount kit and just monkey diving
Hello @mgallager1449, I got out of the fire service in January of 2021. Our company, Lake Hickory Scuba, still dives for the same department when needed as well as several other agencies in our area through contracts.
Hello @timgosling6189, I don't have an answer for that. None of my luggage has ever been stolen. That being said, all my gear is insured, and if it ever gets stolen, I perfectly happy getting all brand new gear. So its a win win for me either way.

Bryan, what was the Mares Dry Bag Name? I see they have dry bags but not seeing the one with the attached compartment.
Hello @michaelshunk2865, the bag featured in this video is the Cruise Dry MBP15. www.mares.com/en_US/mbp15-1
Are those custom pouches added to the top of luggage or something that comes with the box?
They are an aftermarket accessory for the pelican cases. Not made by Pelican

Still working with the fire department?
Have fun on your dive trip.
Hello @mgallager1449, I got out of the fire service in January of 2021. Our company, Lake Hickory Scuba, still dives for the same department when needed as well as several other agencies in our area through contracts.
Are you sure the Pelican cases themselves aren't attractive to thieves?

@@LakeHickoryScuba how do you insure your gear, just with your travel insurance policy?
Great question @kcthomasma, we not only have DAN travel insurance that covers lost and stolen gear, we also have coverage through our company as well.
Coughs friends don't let friends use apple products except in pies lol
Hope you get feeling better.
I am feeling much better now @MysticalDragon73. Thank you.
