    I really like the way you make your videos! Instructions very clear and to the point, and most of all I love that you show how to draft your patterns!! I'm following along, intending to make a hat for a costume, but I want to come back and peruse your other videos to make some everyday hats! Thank you!

    My husband is Greek and we bought authentic Greek Fishermen's hats while in Greece. We can't afford trips from Australia any more so I want to try and make them here. Cross fingers I can. Thank you 💜

    Thank you so much, Ancy! Your pattern and tutorial have been invaluable. The style of your clips is so clear and precise, they're just wonderful. I'm a maker and sewist, but when I decided to make a hat for my daughter, I was quite intimidated by how much I didn't know. Until I found your channel. You made it so easy. and the hat came out just wonderful (the third edition being the best). Profound thanks.

    It looks very good. I am going to attempt making one of those for my dad with leather reclaimed from my parents old sofa. I've never made a hat before but I'm gonna give it a go lol

    Hey BrownGirl !! Love your videos!! I was wondering how could I make pattern #2 larger/taller?? I’m trying to design a similar style for long locks to go inside, like a Rasta style … any tips ?? Thanks in advance

    • @BrownGirlDIYs
      @BrownGirlDIYs  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! to make it taller, increase the width of pattern 2 like instead of marking 2.5", you may mark 3.5". Hope this helps!

    Hi! Great video! I have always bought these white canvas Greek hats, but not able to find them now. Especially in my size US 8!
    I would be willing to touch bases and discuss paying you to make a few for me to my specifications? If interested, let me know. Thanks, Capt. Steve

    So thankful I found your video.....quick question.....how thick is your brim plastic and where did you get it from?

    • @BrownGirlDIYs
      @BrownGirlDIYs  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! For the brim, I have used my old school project file. The thickness is around 0.4mm. You can use 2-3 plastic pieces depending upon how thick you want the brim to be.

    Thank you for sharing this great design! Am I correct in thinking the seam allowances are added when tracing to fabric? That is, not included in initial pattern drafting?

    • @BrownGirlDIYs
      @BrownGirlDIYs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes correct! Seam allowances are not included in the patterns. You will have to add the seam allowances on the fabric while tracing.

      @@BrownGirlDIYs Thank you for such a speedy reply! I’m going to make this hat soon. I have some leftover denim from another project but I’ll use something lighter for the inside.

    Hi! Love your tutorial! Just a question, about how much fabric did you use?

    • @BrownGirlDIYs
      @BrownGirlDIYs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not more than half meter of 60” width fabric.

  • @yvettehitchman5681

    What's the seam allowance please

    • @BrownGirlDIYs
      @BrownGirlDIYs  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey! Seam allowance is the area between the fabric edge and the stitching line. It’s basically margin for sewing.

  • @servinglooks247
    @servinglooks247 ปีที่แล้ว

    If I want to line it with a different fabric which pattern pieces should I cut from the lining fabric?

    • @BrownGirlDIYs
      @BrownGirlDIYs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      One piece of pattern 1 and two pieces of pattern 2
