I don't know how this video came into my recommendations. because I'm a crocheter and my head coverings are crocheted. But I was curious. So I clicked it. Unbelievable! This is the first time seeing a beret SEWN and I'm amazed and thrilled. The tutorial was simple, clear AND the formula to get the exact measurements... Brilliant! I'm glad I clicked it! 😊
Omg😭Thank you so much! Soo happy to know you liked the tutorial and I really appreciate you taking the time to express that♥️♥️ PS: your comment just made my day🤍
@BrownGirlDIYs Im making this for a costume and this is a big help I even used some of my scrap fabric from my small pile so thanks for the simple way of doing this it helped me use some of the things that would have gone to waste ❤
Watching your video brings back memories! Back in my late teens ( am now in my 60s!) these berets were all the rage and very stylish. My friends and I made them using the same methods as you! It’s great to see these being made by a young person who is beautiful and carries this lovely beret off so elegantly. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏽
Mesmerised by your circle drawing just using the tape measure. I would never have thought of that! Clever! Bought a piece of felt from a charity shop today.. and youve inspired me to make a beret. Thank you for this tuition!
out of all the tutorials i have read and watched, this one's the best hands down. it explains everything, doesn't overcomplicate things or add unnessecary steps
@@ladadog3977 That’s such a fantastic idea! Matching berets will add such a unique and cohesive touch to your team’s look. Wishing you an amazing event!
My sister are dressing as a painter for her school event...she need a beret hat to complete her look. Your tutorial for making it is very helpful...thank u for sharing✌🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I was planning on buying one but noticed how quickly the price for this kind of hat went up, so I went to youtube to maybe see some options and get inspiration. This video is an actual saviour!! It's super easy to follow and detailed!! Im definitely going to try it :D ❤❤
@ You’re very welcome! Don’t worry about being new to sewing with a machine, everyone starts somewhere, and practice makes perfect. Take your time, and enjoy the process. You’ve got this!
This is the best DIY beret video ive ever seen. The directions were clear. The video was perfect. I am just finishing a new winter coat out of grey wool for my daughter, and i have enough fabric left to make a beret....(Its that kind of coat!) Thank you very much. PS I enjoyed the little Math section 😂😂
I’m thrilled to hear that you found the video helpful❤️ Grey wool sounds like a perfect match for a chic beret. Happy crafting and I’m glad you enjoyed the math section too!😁
AMAZING!! Even though I am horrible at sewing- I was still able to pull this off. The tutorial was easy and well-put. I really needed this for a school project so thank you so much.
I did something similar and I used a thicker fabric and a silkier fabric and mine needed no fabric interlining. I found that the beret could be not a perfect circle and still make a great beret. I was using laundry mistake clothes rescued from the trash and that being able to cheat it and not have a perfect circle helped a lot. I cheated also when I had enough fabric to not cheat it so I could fancy cut so as to center a detail or to line up the seams exactly as I wanted.
Well this is a great tutorial and if you fold the fabric in quarters when you mark and cut it, you shorten the process even more! I can see this in a wool fabric!
Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I made my first BERET following your video. I did it and I am so happy how well it turned out . Thank you thank you so much for this video. I'm happy!!!!
Fab! I'm so glad to have found this, such a great instructions and very straightforward! I'm making 'French Kiss' costumes for carnival this weekend, these will make them look perfect 👌 (we're dressing up in a French-onion-seller style costume, with make-up like the rock band Kiss!) 😁😝
Amazing and beautiful! Thanks for posting this - like another comment, I knit and crochet and have always made them in this way, but I'm going to try sewing from your instructions. Thanks again - I have subscribed.

@@BrownGirlDIYs sorry the last piece after you sew around the middle, got to there, did that okay. Got to the bit where you turn over the little bit to sew around the outer 6:20 on your tutorial
I haven't seen the vídeo yet but I want to say that you are very pretty! And with the beret you reminded me of Bianca Jagger. Lovely! Now I will watch the vídeo 😂😂

how do i determine diameter for circle if i were to make it for a 0-3 month baby? is it my desired diameter? then input in head circumference for the inner circle?

This is a good tutorial but does the top part of the hat being 12 inches, does that same measurement apply to heads with a circumference of all sizes or should that be adjusted
Seen dozens of DIY beret videos. This is the best.
Thank you!!! This means a lot. I really appreciate your feedback.
I agree 100%!! :))
Agree!
Very nice, but please show your measurements for us to have accuracy. It is easy to follow with measurements.
