Thanks buddy I was becoming frustrated and was about to call a service tech. Only difference was I have an ignite button on mines. I had to look through the glass while depressing the red gas button and then depressing the ignitor for about one minute or so, fire in the hole! Thanks again

Best tutorial among all I've watched! My water heater has no electric ignition, and I am very nervous when it comes to igniting fuel! Your details are appreciated! At first, I didn't know about opening the smaller door for access. Then I couldn't get my reset button to depress. Your info and demo showed me the way and now I can look forward to hot water! Many thanks from a 1st time home owner.

Thanks for the video. But the flame on mine keeps going out after I release the red button so when I switch it to the ON position, the pilot light is already out. Have you any suggestions? Thanks.
