    What is the secret to living a long and healthy life? Much has been said and written about the importance of maintaining physical fitness -- balanced diet, regular exercise, ample sleep, avoiding toxins, and so on. But how about our emotional, psychological and spiritual health? What effect does, say, anxiety and stress have on our welfare and longevity? How much do our fears and insecurities drain and erode our immunity systems?
    Please join Rabbi Simon Jacobson for a dynamic discussion on the virtues of living a more meaningful and spiritual life. Discover how to introduce transcendence into your daily routines, how to build and embrace eternal foundations and values, and how that will help free you from the stresses and pressures that take their toll on your health. Learn how to unleash forces in your soul that will allow you to live a more fulfilling and a longer life, quantitatively and qualitatively.

    My dad is a spiritualist. He's 94. Lives at home by himself. Rarely smoked or drank however. Didn't over eat either. He might even be part Jewish. His Jewish neighbour is very nice to him.

      That's awesome. L'chaim. I'll teach you some Aramaic. It's the slang of Hebrew. Schlama means peace. Malkuth means heaven. Hubba means love. Hubba to you and yours. In my 61 years, God spoke to my right ear from above. Usually, one sentence, but He showed me more in meditation.
      11.17.2015...Eve beach, Waikiki early evening. I couldn't find a book reading so I sat under the stars alone. I asked God His name.
      He, Fundamentally E.
      I answered, Energy of consciousness that suffuses everything. Every proton, neutron, electron, quark, spark of light and black hole.
      He answered, "Don't forget the science."
      He said, make Israel One. You are anchor. ( To make Israel One means to bring peace and reconciliation between Jew, Christian, Muslim: cousins by Abraham). The last 8 years I have been time stamping many foretelling visions that came true.

    To me it would make sense if they do.
    As when you are spiritual, you have hope, appreciation (gratitude and optimism, = Positive mental attitude, which activates constructive neurotransmitters in the brain (seretonin dopamine and oxytocin), which release into the blood stream, they are anti inflammatory and anti oxidants, keeping mind and cells (of the body) healthy whilst strengthening the immune system. That's the power of Faith!

      I was always spiritual and a secret Jew going under atheistic Buddhism, for at the time sometimes the holocaust happening was evidence that perhaps its Possible, God wasn't there.. I had warnings from my grandparents to never ever say or talk about being Jewish. You can understand, their parents were very adamant.. They didn't want a holocaust to catch up to Us here in the U.S... but Since being in times where there is a bursting of knowledge and acceptance for our people. It has been wonderful and Greatly aided me to be able to publicly return to the faith

      You're right, but don't forget... 95% of the serotonin is produced in the gut. We are what we eat. I believe the gut is the key to unlocking spirituality. A bad diet will make you sick in ways that we don't traditionally define as sickness. I believe lack of spirituality is a sickness.

    • @rewschreijewschreier
      @rewschreijewschreier ปีที่แล้ว

      @@limitisillusion7 I think you nailed it.! Fasting is prescribed as a way to get closer to the spirit. And I think exactly what you're talking about is the answer. It's something like after 24 hours of a fast, we start producing higher levels of stem cells and hgh in the body, that repairs and superpowers our bodies. We aren't supposed to eat like we do today. Look up fasting and meditation, and hgh levels across like a 10 day fast.

    • @limitisillusion7
      @limitisillusion7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rewschreijewschreier I don't fast much. To me, it's more about eating a diversity of fibrous whole foods. Greater diversity requires a greater variance of gut microbes to digest the food. Less diversity leads to fewer types of microbes, and you risk one becoming dominant. This can lead to leaky gut and other issues. When there's more diversity, harmful microbes get outcompeted by other kinds, so no single microbe becomes too dominant. They all live in harmony, literally.
      It's sort of a checks and balances system. If you expand this concept to humanity, too much group think leads to conflicts and eventually there are one or two dominant groups or narratives. Whereas, if there was more diversity, no single narrative can take over. So in this case, censorship is bad in the same way that processed foods are bad. Processed foods strip out micronutrients. Censorship strips out nuanced narratives. The nuance is akin to the micronutrients. When your body is only getting macros, it doesn't operate efficiently, because it doesn't have the micronutrients that signal your body properly. The your hunger signals never get turned off. The same is true with nuance. If we censor nuance, we lose the ability to understand each other as a species, and the result is greed in the same way that a lack of micronutrients cause us to overeat.
      This analogy may seem strange, but the more you look into it, the more evidence you will find to support it. We are what we eat, but that includes both our nutrional and informational diet. Nature thrives on diversity. If one species becomes too dominant, that species will literally get thrown out by nature one way or another. If we process all our food and information, we lose the diversity and decay as a species. We aleven filter our air, and the wonder why we get pollen allergies. The result of this is an increase in self-destructive behaviors like obesity, depression, suicide, anxiety, crime, war etc. If we embrace diversity, we thrive and realign with nature.

    You live if God allows it.... that is no secret. The flesh, it needs to be keep well... especially for the heart, the wellspring of life. I will not table my beliefs in Jesus in this forum, but I will say that spiritual light emits from those who walk with God in their ways, not their own ways. I have seen the most learned Rabbis, clerics, ministers, cardinals....and of them all, from every single teachers from east to west and north to south - not one has the answers, that's Gods business. Civilization, the globe, people, nations, the entire Earth is under incredible strain. Rabbi... in the near future, look to Jerusalem... for their you will find The LORD. His word will roll like thunder through the canyons and the Earth will hear his call... for it belongs to him.... he is The LORD. Blessings... always pray.

    Even when we have great emotional and spiritual wellbeing and live healthy we can still become ill. Due to genetics. A world without illness doesn't exist. There are toddlers dying of cancer. Your statement is too simplistic Rabbi. In this case it's not 1+1=2. I feel there is some spiritual pride here, with all respect. My mum died when she was 23 due to recurrent cancer during her short life. As I said before in the comments, I live with a life limiting illness, but survived the doctors prediction 🙏🏼please don't fingerpoint to people who are ill.Because some of them might surprise you, by what fulfilling and happy lives they life...
