Thank you so much for this video. I met with my plastic surgeon and was horrified he had not even up on what my breast surgeon and I had discussed. I'm meeting with another plastic surgeon next week.

Thank you for your video I'll be having this surgery in May. I'm so ready, these expanders hurt. I had radiation on my right side 5 yrs ago from the first time I had stage 0 breast cancer. I had a lumpectomy on that side back then. A year later I was deemed fine for implants..which I received. Then fast forward to last year. I had breast cancer again on the right side. This time DMX was the best choice. I'm still under 50 so I decided to have reconstruction.

I am exactly one month out from a double mastectomy because of idc. With tissue expanders... I find they are truly the worst . I feel like I have an iron bra on, and the tightness feeling is crazy... I can not wait for the exchange to implant. I'm still in a fair amount of pain due to the expanders. I wish you both good luck. Did you guys feel like me with these expanders?
@@KirstenHolahanI do. Worst pain in my life. Over a year now. I don't know what to choose. I'm 63...it seems people expect me to not want breasts.
My husband wants me healthy.
I don't know what to do. A year ago I was definitely getting reconstruction.
@pollymiller6370 it's been 4 months since my surgery. Still in so much discomfort from these expanders. .. next week one more fill and im.done can't take anymore.... keep in touch with me.. wishing you healing also and to feel better

Thank you so much, I am in the expander stage, I had my double mastectomy in December 2022, and I have had radiation on my right breast march/April 2023 under my right arm, down my right side, had eight lymph nodes removed as a sample there was cancer in one, there was active cancer in my right breast….

Thanks for your post. I am 4 weeks after my first surgery. Healing well. Confused about what size bra I am. LOL but I don’t really care….. just want comfy. I’m not sure how many fills to go, hard decision. I can get an exchange in about 3 months. Not sure if I should wait longer to fully heal first. So much to figure out. AM happy for you and glad all is going well. Thanks for all your videos!

Did you go pre pec or sub? My surg. was
Leaning toward sub but when surg. Was done he decided on pre-pec expander. I only had right mastectomy and will have left augmentation for symmetry at the time of exchange.
Sub! The original plan was pre. But once I was in surgery and they realized I'd need radiation, they went sub.

Great info...music distracts and is terrible for a serious topic that is life changing.
My surgeon wanted to do a flap…I weigh 104 pounds, I have no excess fat whatsoever. I swear plastic surgeons are all psychopaths!
Actually that is a fact, unfortunately.
