A long way from the AN/PRC-77 days... I was a Marine radio man back in the 80s, and a HAM radio guy now. These radios are SO darn more sophisticated. I'd love to get some time on these radios.
I guess black box its 220\12 AC-DC adapter or something since its connected to low part and there red cable behind wall(0:12) with power destributer. On 2:00 there small stripped cable, i guess its ballast for antenne, but why y using it on SATCOM? Also it not put on the antenna connector, but hangs on the cable sheath
Easy to setup for sure as long as the radio is programmed correctly. Simply plug and play. I work for the most important stateside mission...it can be easy, but some setups aren't straightforward. The radio is awesome sauce for sure. A good operator can do some work for sure. I'd like to think I'm one of those. I'm not sure why the hate. Harris is solid.
Gone a long since WW 2 models. I think it can reach now up to a 1 1/2 mile without phasing in and out due to weather conditions. Batteries last 72 hours.

you are braindead
I think is goes about 1 mile to 238,900+ miles. As for weather conditions it will be pretty hard using this walkie talkie in a tornado.
What is the frequency spread on UHF and VHF ?
I was on this mission at the TMC for 2 rotations!
