What wood would you recommend for large canvas and if you have any supplies tips ( I love in Los Angeles.) thanks a lot for your video . Happy new year.
Super helpful video! Thanks so much for taking the time to make this. It's helped me immensely. Do you have a pair of canvas pliers that you recommend? I can't seem to find a good one.
compressor shouldn't matter too much for this size of job. I have a small porter cable pancake compressor from home depot and a large capacity compressor and they're only different on how long it can push nails before it needs to re-compress air. It also is important to size it right for spraying paint if you do. But for finish nailing, a small one is the same in my opinion.
No idea, it's just a mill. I was buying them through a wholesaler here in Portland. Im done using them though. Im much happier with the bars I have shipped up from LA for a lower price. It's more about the softer corners than it is about the price, I just really need the softer corners.
What size of staples do you use? I've got regular pneumatic finish nail guns but don't have a stapler. I see porter cable has a 1 inch and a 1.5 inch 18 gauge stapler.

What do you do if the v nailer is creating space between the corners?
Hey thank you for sharing your knowledge. What compressor do you use for the nailer?

@@phototocanvaspdx cool, thanks. I am a "master" woodworker but I'd rather spend my time painting.

oh is this the v-nailer you used in other videos?
Vnailer for corners. T50 or upholstery staples for canvas
Sorry, let me clarify. I see that v nails come in different sizes like 10mm or 12mm. How do I know what size to get?
i have the same question. Pity there’s no answer
This is actually a strainer, not a stretcher. Stretchers have loose corners that can be expanded by keys to increase the canvas tension.
All of my suppliers refer to them as stretcher bars, as well as the artists I work with.
