But there are a lot of people who apparently only care about money. Also i think since they did continue the very least they could've done was clean the ring. It does make things look really worse. Eddie Guerrero's passing probably hit me the hardest back in the day. Whether he was playing a heel or a hero in the ring, he was genuinely a good man outside the ring. I remember hearing a story about him gently chiding a fan for using explicit language, saying something along the lines of "hey man, I don't care what you think about me but there are kids here, watch your mouth, please." I don't know if it's true or not but I think that it fits with his out of ring persona.

Eddies death was the catalyst for Chris loosing his mind. CTE & Steroids may very well have slowly taken it’s tole on Chris’ body and mind over the years, but everything became so much worse for Chris after Eddie’s passing.
I bet once Chris started getting testy and violent with Nancy, she threatened to leave and take Daniel with her. Unable to cope with the idea of even more loss, mixed with the state of his mind, he absolutely lost it.

Days like this really show that wrestling as a whole, PG or TV-14, is very controversial no matter if a company tries so hard to protect their wrestlers. Because there is a BIG difference between a character and the real life person behind it. I really hope kids understand the consequences of wrestling before they say they want to be part of it.

May 6, 2002 was a dark day as the World Wrestling Federation was no more. Grew up hearing WWF and "World Wrestling Federation" and because of a lawsuit from the wildlife conservationist organization, WWF, the wrestling company was forced to change its name to "WWE". A lot has gone down since the WWF died. It was only supposed to be a cosmetic change of one letter for another in the name but the company is no longer the wrestling company it once was. It's really sad. The deaths of Andre, Owen, Pillman, Eddie, Benoit, etc. have been horrible as well. We had a great memory in our childhood of this organization but it's gone.

Nancy's sister, Sandra, was one of my best friends in junior high. I met Nancy when she was in a relationship with Kevin Sullivan before the story line was changed to where she was having a relationship with Chris who she married. Chris had went through a lot the last few months. The death of his dear friend, Eddie Guerrero and also ALOT of physical pain. Chris was a good guy until he wasn't. I can count on one hand how many matches I've watched and that's because I have 4 boys. My heart and prayers still go out to Sandra and her family and to Chris's family and his older kids. They all lost a person known as Woman in the ring, but Nancy to many of us. Sandra spends time with Chris's oldest son ( he looks just like his Dad ). I do think that as talent he was AWESOME, and I blame most of his actions those 2 days to not being in the right state of mind. Hall of Fame, I have mixed feelings and I lean towards the side that WWE and Nancy and Daniel are on and that's him not being inducted. Maybe later down the road and although it's been a long time, I don't think it's been enough. R.I.P Eddie, Nancy, Daniel and even Chris. Of course to their family and friends keep them alive through stories and pictures and for the love they gave everyone.

Where as Benoit had an incredible Career, what we remember to this day are the choices he made over that weekend. Very Gruesome and sad, No one deserves any of that :( I know there are a lot of Conspiracies and stories, but there are with a lot of big incidents that don't make sense to people.. Regarding Chris Benoit, regardless the ultimate reason why he did what he did, which will most likely never be fully learned, the root cause was in fact the wrestling industry as a whole, as it existed at the time. The unrealistic physical endurance expectations placed on talent by not just the WWE, but every other promotion as well, has always been the perfect recipe for personal disaster, as evidenced by the ever-rising number of "early" unfortunate deaths of wrestlers. These companies chew up talent, literally, then spit them out in pieces, all for the "entertainment" of the fans.

I tell you another dark event that should’ve got at least an dishonourable mention is Jerry Lawlers heart attack. I watched that episode and you could tell that something must’ve been serious as the announcers were feuding at the time. (Cole being a heel and Lawler being a face).
One minute they were feuding and bantering like usual and the next Michael Cole barely was able to keep up with match events as he tried to help his commentator partner. I would never forget the face he made when he was forced to let everyone know at home what happened as well as keeping us all updated. Then at the end his relief when they eventually informed me that Lawler was critical but stable.
It was not only shocking to see everyone’s reaction but also hearing that Lawlers heart actually stopped for a few minutes. It honestly scared me as in England around the same time a footballer named Fabrice Muamba suffered a similar fate playing football in a game vs Spurs.
The point is I can understand it not being on the list because thankfully Lawler survived but IMO it should be on this list as a reminder to us all that one minute everything could be okay and the next you could be breathing your last breath without saying goodbye. I would rather lose my job than to lose my life.

It was so ironic at the time when Vince McMahon announced what happened to Benoit. Because a week or two prior to that, I really thought at the time he had died in that limousine explosion. Talk about irony. Also, I’ll never forget the dark cold feeling when I tuned into Raw that night as a ten year old, and it said “in loving memory of Chris Benoit”. Because at the time , I had no idea anything about Chris Benoit at that point. I didn’t check the internet regularly at that time, so at that was my first time knowing about it. i dont get why the WWE doesn't have a separate show that can be dedicated to the off stage developments of the stories surrounding superstars and their rise and falls, like the feud between Kane and the Undertaker would honestly be really cool, putting that with Netflix to air the show on there and a qr code that could be seen during the events on things like Monday night RAW, Basically they could go big by turning the story lines they make for in ring more fleshed out as a feature show on Netflix.

I remember Benoit was my favorite wrestler as a kid, and I remember tuning into raw excited to see whether Benoit won the ecw title or not against cm punk just to find out the very first thing I see is “in loving memory of Chris Benoit”. My first thought was because the Vince is dead storyline was going on was that Benoit’s death was part of the story line as well, but then the show opened up with his tribute and seeing interviews of everyone crying, I then realized it wasn’t a story going on and that my childhood favorite wrestler was gone. First Eddie, then Benoit. The only 2 wrestlers I really cared for much after that was Kurt angle and orton. Angle left for tna and I quit watching wwe after that for a long time. Partly regret not watching because I missed the rise of punk and all the pipe bombs and all of that in that era but I still try to keep up on it every now and then. Glad edge is back and orton is still going strong. I might get back into consistently watching one day, but ever since Benoit and Eddie died and Kurt retired, sadly the wwe died with them for me
