Underpainting demonstration using Quinacridone Magenta Part 1

  • In this video (Part 1 of two) I demonstrate how to create an underpainting and discuss why I think it is important.     is it oil? guess it takes forever to dry~

      1. Yes, it is oil (it tells you that above).
      2. No, it doesn't 'take forever' to dry. It remains wet for a short while in order for the artist to manipulate it better.

      Different oil paints dry at different speeds, but generally yes it is slow. However mediums like Liquin greatly speed that up, I find it touch dry in a couple of hours, apparently dry in 24 hours ( true dry takes longer).
