You nailed it. My thoughts and sentiment on this game and all remasters in general are much like yours. We must be similar age as I also remember playing this with my Dad. Good work and greetings from down under!
Recently there was a remastered Gargoyles game that let you switch back the original graphics at the push of a button. I agree that that's a really nice feature that remasters should include
@@MaxedOutToast I don't think that's something remakes should have, but I did appreciate the fact that the Resident Evil 2 remake offered the original character models as free DLC skins. Having the option for the original music was nice too, but I have very fond memories of the original Resident Evil 2
@@TheSplatterhousepics I completely agree! As much as I loved the reimagining/remake of Resident Evil 2, the original on PS1 will always be one of my all-time favourite games and Is my number 1 resident evil game.
Hi there. I use the same control scheme as in the original PS1 controls for jumping back, were you using the modern controls? I am using tank controls as it's what I grew up with.
That's great to hear that you didn't have any issues, when I was picking up items the angle had to be absolutely perfect for it to register, unfortunately I do have incredibly bad vision so maybe it is just me.
@@MaxedOutToast it’s definitely you. I went back to the original game on my PS2 a few days ago and no, the angle doesn’t have to absolutely perfect, you just need to be near enough to the item. You are over exaggerating it
You're being very rude over a small comment that they made. It is definitely a (fairly minor) issue. In the first game the distance you needed to be from a pickup was much smaller than in the sequels. The developers of the remaster thought it was significant enough to fix.
@@sw97058 The only reason they changed it slightly was to stop people like you from crying like crybabies, the developers didn’t need the headache from dumb people like you 🤡

Thank you so much 😊 I was a 90's kid and I'm so glad I was, I got to grow up with some incredible super Nintendo and PS1 games.

That's great to know that there are other Remasters out there that take advantage of this amazing feature ☺️

@MaxedOutToast thank you that's the way I grew up playing it.
Never found picking up items in the original game a problem, are you partially BLIND?
