A special thanks. After 2 years I’ve finished learning the square form with a teacher. I used this video a lot to help me remember the sequence. Though the execution is different in my form, smaller frame and more segments, nevertheless this video was indispensable. Now begins the work all over again!

Thank you. I was able to learn the Wu Style 108 using Jackys' detailed videos. I am grateful for this beyond words.

Richard Greenberg I'm learning from a teacher but always come back to this video as a memory aid for the sequence. I would however caution again using a video solely. I am constantly being corrected and making adjustments. There's a tremendous amount of stuff that is hidden from sight that only a teacher can help with. The choreography is not tai chi. I say this as it is possible to get into bad habits to the point it may look like tai chi but it isn't. Good luck.

You are right about the need for a teacher and I learned the forms with a teacher/student but would not have able to learn the forms as quickly and in such great depth without the videos on the screen every time I practiced. For this opportunity, I am exceptionally grateful. I might add that I have practiced other IMA styles for more than 40 years so my basic foundation was firmly in place.

I have leukemia and other health problems and very little money. If videos on YT are what you can "afford" money or time wise, do that. Throw in some Western Boxing basics; also found on YT. That should give you some basics.
You won't be able to beat up a cop, a Navy Seal or a ninja, but hopefully you won't need to.

Okay, I was looking at another Wu style 108 videos, and how he did the movements was rather off-- to put it nicely. It actually looked pretty horrible. But this guy I can read him a lot better. Its different than the Yang form that I'm used to or the Chen. But its recognizable as taiji and doesn't break the principles. Its reassuring to see.

The movements in this demonstration are robotic and broken up, lacking the flow and agility (circularity) that characterize Wu-style Tai Chi Chuan, as evidenced by the authentic demonstration of Grandmaster Eddie Wu.
A word of caution: stiff body and broken movements are bad habits and fundamental flaws that are difficult to remove or reduce.

Taichi Wu 853 This guy’s on the journey. It’s great that he put this video up and is contributing to the world of taiji. That said, I don’t know if “agility” is the right word to describe Wu style. “Flow” perhaps...

This is the so-called "square form" or "joint form" of the Wu style. It is a common first form, a learning form, designed to help the learner see, do, and understand all the pieces of each movement. By moving slowly and robotically, with each movement having a clear beginning and end, the learner can ensure that the body is properly aligned for the transmission of force(s) at the beginning, in the middle, and at the end of each form. Once all the pieces are in place, it is fairly easy for the practitioner to transition to the more fluid "round form", and to execute it properly. Different teachers may have a greater or lesser amount of stop-start. If I recall correctly, Eddie Wu often used this as a first form for teaching.

      我不是甚麼太極拳大師,我的小小心願是希望有些人需要幫助,能夠通過我練太極拳的經驗(因為我練太極拳的原因也是因為勞碌奔波導致腰痛,加上年少時拗過腳踭而患上風濕,真的很痛,連車都開不了)。通過練習太極拳(其實更多是拳社的訓練方式)現在要痛風濕都沒有了。
      你不喜歡我的影片不要緊。就像郭兆明博士話,世事沒有對錯,只係睇你企那邊。

      Jacky:你的长文,东拉西扯,却不能解释 "绷紧(stiff)" 和 "断续(broken)" 等拳法毛病。你说这些毛病没有对错,只是 "企那边"的问题;此等说法,若出自吴光宇宗师的入室弟子,真是令人失望。

    • @JackyChanTQRC108
      @JackyChanTQRC108  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      首先,我並沒說過我是入室弟子。你由頭到尾只是針對影片中的斷續生硬問題。之後便是對本人及師父的人身攻擊。練拳本來就是很個人的事。我把自己練拳的經歷拍下來留個記錄給大家分享。其實不喜歡也沒所謂,因為任何人對任何事也有不同的睇法。並沒有所謂。
      很老實,人並沒有完美,可能你覺得我的拳未練成,把自己練的拳那來顯臭。不過我覺得這是學習過程的必經階段。可能你已經練到宇宙級數,不過可惜我到現在仲未睇到,或者你覺得你太厲害我們這些晚輩不配。不過我都係覺得沒有所謂。
      不過其實如果你睇唔明我的「長文」,你即係未明白「氣」。咁其實你應該唔明我講乜。
      其實令你失望也沒有所謂,因為我根本不認識你。我唔一定要人地認同,沒人敢說他會是絕對啱,或絕對錯。不過如果你咁執著,那麼你是要我認錯吧。就算我是認錯那又如何呢?如果你是咁厲害,那麼為何你又不拍些教學片段給大家學下野?用個假名就可以隨便批評。做人真簡單。只說不練的我也見太多。
      By the way, 傳承中華文化,請不要用簡化字,請用繁體字。
      祝聖誕快樂,新年進步。
