- Hello! Eh Up! And how ya Diddlin!? In this weeks video, we go looking at what lies beneath Bakewell. Bakewell is a gorgeous little town in the beautiful Derbyshire dales, it’s that gorgeous we decided to go beneath it lol! In truth, what lies beneath Bakewell, is a fantastic old Chert workings. This was a great underground explore Steve.
It's amazing to think what's beneath our feet and that all of it was created by candlelight with picks and shovels and the odd bit of gunpowder here and there in the early days. Proper grafting in those days...🤔👍🏻

Great video I was talking to a friend about bakewell and we wondered how extensive the mines were under the town.
