    As someone who spent his first 39 years in Buffalo, NY, and now lives near Jax, I think the heat and humidity should be on the list for sure. Even after 13 years in it, it's almost unbearable.

      Now the smell in Jacksonville is like he said, On 95 near Dunn Ave. I think it's from the Anheuser Busch and Bacardi plants. There is also a dirty diaper smell near Golfair. No idea what it is. I live in Springfield and pretty much just smell coffee from Maxwell House. The paper mill smell is in Fernandina.

    I love Jacksonville but i would never suggest anyone try to live downtown. It is very dangerous and has a lot of property crime. A lot is associated with the fact that the duval country jail is right next to what used to be the landing.

    The points you raise are valid for almost any city in Florida. Since you are in the real estate business why do you begin the title of your video by telling people not to move to Jacksonville. You should also clarify that Jacksonville is the largest city in Florida geographically speaking (by land area) but certainly not by metro population. In addition, my wife and I have lived in Jacksonville for almost 30 years and found that although Jacksonville has had its' share of storms, it has not seen a direct hit by a hurricane since the early 1960's.

      Crime is largely concentrated in small areas that are scattered throughout the city. There are a lot of resources that identify these areas by using color shaded maps. I drill on the north end of town with the army reserves. The drill hall is in the worst neighborhood in Jacksonville known as 29th and Chase. Although it is dangerous I personally never had concerns of my safety or property. I've been going to that drill hall for the last 7 years

    Every city, especially of a larger size is not going to be perfect. I've seen confederate flags in certain areas of California and trump supporters as well ( at this point he is becoming insignificant anyway), unfortunately there is homelessness everywhere, rents are way higher in many other cities and as far as weather, again every major city has some sort of issue with weather (unless you are in San Diego maybe). Real estate in Jacksonville is very affordable compared to any major city in the US .....in Los Angeles, you have to be a millionaire at this point to afford a normal house that would go for less than 400 k in Jacksonville. I've been to Jacksonville several times and find it to be a pleasant city and it seems to be very green everywhere. Of course, I haven't lived there full time, but I've had a positive experience when I've visited.

    Jacksonville is being overrun with immigrants of questionable legal status. Food trucks parked on every corner on the southside. Walk in Sam’s Club, Home Depot, Walmart, Harbor Freight and everyone is speaking in foreign languages. Traffic is miserable. The politicians and businessmen keep pushing for more growth. Then they go home to their gated communities. It’s good to be king.

    jacksonville has one of the best public school systems in the country. thanks to an ex School Superintendent, General (retired) John V. fryer, Jr. he came in and smoothly made changes that changed the future of our children. Districts from across the country sent representatives here to observe his system and adapt it to their own schools.

    • @grrriallen7192
      @grrriallen7192 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@salamoonder3687 I absolutely don’t believe you. I am sure there are bad people in every profession. Jax schools rate as some of the best in the country as shown by all the workshops that were done for schools across the country to follow Gen. Fryer’s lead. That is a fact. They I am sure have changed over the last 20 years but when my daughter went to Mandarin High the school was one of the best in the country. The #1 public school wasStanton, and followed closely behind was Douglas School for the arts. You need to remember that a lot of the private school teachers came from public schools and the kids that go there are mostly wealthy which obviously means they can afford all the drugs and alcohol they want, have attorneys at their parents disposal, drive cars and dress to impress, and are the self-entitled” kids of the county. I would not send my kid to a private school. I personally know a couple of teachers who switched to private schools but that was because they weren’t that good to start with and the private schools don’t have the regulations in place to keep up the quality of teachers in their schools. Also I read just the other day that the percentage of Rhodes scholars is higher in public schools than in private, at least in the State of Florida. Please stop repeating rumors you have heard. How often are you in the school volunteering? I spent about 40 hours a week every week, in there, leading the PTA, being a room mom, putting on the dances, etc. and spent lots of time getting to know my daughters teachers. How about you? You get out of any situation exactly what you put into it. Also, if your kids are smart they will be in AP classes where the principals, the superintendent and the guidance counselors will tell you the classroom situation is much better than the average classroom. The kids have already learned respect and the value of an education from their parents. Are you a responsible parent that taught them that or where they taught to pass the buck..

    Let me help you out, Some very important things to consider Which are NOT mentioned in the video, southern hostility, racism, over abundance of ROAD RAGE, round the clock DRIVE BY SHOOTINGS and murders, car jackings, objects being throne at your vehicle while being passed,tail gaters, street thuggs and gangs, people parking on your front lawn and driveway, vandalism, car break in's, auto theft, squaters, panhandlers indifferent OR corrupt police departments, inept city government officials etc. TEMPERATURES, [both atmospheric and human] HURRICANES TORNADOS AND FLOODING Just to name a few. So if you are agile and don't mind having to dodge an OCCASIONAL Dodge [or other make and model ] or a steady barrage of bullets and don't mind having your property destroyed or your life endangered, THEN C'MON DOWN !
