It is a former racially segregated area, situated on the slopes of Signal Hill above the city centre and is a historical centre of Cape Malay culture in Cape Town. Cape Malay: A South African Muslim identity borne out of colonialism.
We survived Dutch-Indonesian and British-Malay conspiracy. Exiled from our native lands and banished to Cape Town, South Africa for being Dutch and British dissidents. We were literally thrown amongst the wild animals and savages. Punished with enslavement, torture camps, rape camps, and dispossession of land , property and possessions.
With 300 years of strife - patience, endurance , and resilience - we survived and established a community with a unique culture.

This is only a fraction of how our lives were in district 6 bokaap scotchekloof as children our famines use to.stay in Hanover street some in Wales street some in Mountain street.some in Brown street i can go.on an on with the Indian shop on the corner houseswith shutter wooden Windows we were families .the horse an very fruit an veggies carts the fish children coming from school an madrassah .everybody loved one another last straw when they started demolishi g the houses my poor old an t stay i g in half demished house with she staircase showing .now my page he are all gone because of heartbrokeness an where they had to stay .an here we sitting in our 60years old in places thats horrible an yet we know the full stories of Cape town. It's so heartbroken when we see the places this is not half of what needs to be told .those thats left there are doing a good job its clean but their is a lot more of those that was their but did not make it to see the cape now .

Yg banyak adat dan suku itu malaka..melayu hanya 1 suku di antara ribuan suku di malaka....tuan guru dan yusuf al macaccas berasal dri malaka dlu belum terbentuk negara...dan hanya jajahan belanda yg di bawa ke africa bukan jajahan inggris...😂😂😂😂 lol...bawa² melayu belum tentu malaysia leluburnya dri melayu murni...raja2 nua aja keturunan dri bugis...lol

@@nsaffini1975 di indonesia muka2 melayu tak semuanya melayu...di indonesia budaya perkauman terjaga...hanya di malaysia semua etnis di jadikan melayu, sebab mau bersaing dengan china dan india...di malaysia budaya melayu hanya sebatas pakaian itupun ikut dngan melayu riau... tak ada tradisi2 melayupun yg terjaga sebab orang2 yg mengaku melayu nenek mereka memiliki adat kaumnya sendri..misal suku bugis,jawa padang,medan dll semua nya di paksakan jdi kaum melayu di malaysia itu sebab budaya asli hilang budaya melayupun malas nak jaga sebab aslinya bukan budaya nenek mereka...wkwkwkwk

I miss Bo-Kaap. Attended St Pauls Primary in Bryant Street while living in Long Street so I was always there and knew all the Aunties and Uncles especially in Eid

Die Bo-Kaap is so onbeskryflik mooi en dit is iets om op trots te wees. Die gemeenskapsbande is só sterk daar en dit maak my as alleenloper soms hartseer en so bietjie jaloers. Die Bo-Kaap bly leef in mens se hart afgesien van die hartseer vd verlede. Ek leef gedurig met die hartseer dat ek en van my voorouers hartseer aan ander veroorsaak het. Ek was te jonk om als te verstaan, maar daar is niks wat my meer vreugde verskaf as die liefde wat my land en sy mense nogtans aan mekaar betoon nie. Afgesien van en ondanks als. Seën, respek en vrede. 🤗🧡❤

Umm Bo Kaap is not just attractive but very clean too. Please make more videos of this environment, history, religion, culture and all. Do you have rental /bed breakfast and Malaysian food restaurants. Bucket list for this winter holiday
