    In my experience pegs always come into their own on light trails through the warmer months. They also make for perfect walking shoes once they’re past their best, great value for money

    Great vid as always. For those heavier runners (80kg +) I find the 39s - and react foam in general - to be both soft and snappy even at slower paces. Ben and the other TH-camrs don’t generally talk to how much runner weight can impact the feel of a foam so just one to bare in mind.

    I'm extremely satisfied with my Pegasus 39 FlyEase . It is much better then the normal Pegasus 38 in every aspect : it is quite a lot lighter weight, more stable, no overheating, looks better , more comfortable for running and casual uses too.

    Great review Ben. I’ve run many miles in the peg 34,36,37 and 38. I preferred the peg37 simply because of the less-plush tongue. They are great value daily trainers. I can’t wait to try the new 39s!

    Just an observation: if it's less comfortable at your recovery pace, but fine at your easy pace, it's quite possible that for the majority of us it still won't be comfortable at our easy pace. Our easy pace is probably not as fast as yours...Maybe I speak for myself, but it's a consideration.

    Great video!! I have only ran in the 37 and 38. I liked the 38s better. It has more room for my toes. Both shoes were good. I put 1,000 miles in the 37s and 950 in the 38s. I agree the zoom x would be great in the Pegasus.

    i have only run in the 37 (both regular and shield model). I do not like the regular 37, but the 37 shield is really really good when there snow out and all during the winter or during wet conditions and keeps my feet dry and fits better than the regular 37.

    I've only had the Pegasus 37 shield. It was a big dissapointment and dropped out of my rotation quickly. The upper was so tight fitting (even for my narrow feet) and the heel was so poor with tonnes of slipping. My mach 4s were and are my absolute favourites and between these shoes it is night and day. This peg looks great for a muddy winter parkrun though. Thanks for the review Ben!

    Only tried Peg35. Love them for their vertasility. Great allrounder, and I love that they can be used on light trails aswell. The grip is great both in terrain and on wet/slippery surfaces. In trail runs that does not demand trails shoes the pegasus is preffered. Also I can use them in the snow when I dont need ice spikes. Comfortable and reasonably priced shoes aswell. They can be used for racing and intervalls also, but I prefer faster shoes for that kind of jogs. :)

    I loved the Peg 30+ (the pink Mo Farah version). Probably being sentimental because that was my first proper running shoe. Having said that, other brands have outshined the Pegs in recent years. Nike's Vomero is the new Peg for me since v13.

  • @ajtam05
    @ajtam05 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I agree. I have the wide version for my feet. It's not soft enough slow, not light or springy enough for tempo/fast, but for moderate pace (stacking the mileage per week) it does its job well.
    I have Pegasus 39 for everyday easy-to-moderate pace runs, Asics Tri 14 Noosa's for tempo/fast (LOVE them) & getting the New Balance Rebel v4 for max cushion easy/recovery & long runs.
    I think that'll serve me well! Now...time to figure out which race day shoe to get! :D

    I have worn the 38's for the last 6 months. I noticed that I have to be meticulous with the way I lace them up. My right foot specifically, the heel with slide to the left inside the shoe. I have figured out to take my time to ensure that my heel is locked down and ensure the tightness of the laces is tight and uniform between the two shoes.

  • @bizzij7305

    Really enjoy the reviews Ben. I have to say though, I am not a fan of these shoes. I find them very uncomfortable and definitely not enough padding, (6'2 and 95k). I found they were particularly thin on cushioning around the ball of my foot and had hotspots and pain for most of the run and it was only an slow 5k. I have decided to upgrade to the Invincible 3, so lets see how much difference it makes.

    Last Pegasus I had were the 37s and I didn't get on with them at all. Could really feel the pod at the front and didn't like it. And then about 100 miles in, it popped! Had to bin them after that. I looked for an alternative and found the Puma Velocity Nitro which I absolutely loved. Have nearly worn them through and will be getting the updated version next.

  • @hamoudalnasser
    @hamoudalnasser ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I agree with your major take here: the Peg is great and versatile because it suits a pace 3/4 of runners are looking for: the Mid range between all out speed work and recovery, to me the sweet spot is always bw 5:30/km to 4:30/km. These new ones run a little faster than the last two versions, but you'll need a dedicated tempo/race shoe for faster paces.
    They are also the most durable shoes on the market, and can withstand different surfaces better than any other daily runners I've used.

    And races vapour fly. In fact I like the vapour fly for any speed or distance
    I also like the prime x just as a fun maximal cushion shoe I’m not a elite Runner so it doesn’t matter but I wouldn’t like to use a illegal shoe in a race.

    Are the Alphafly or Next% much better though? For mainly pavement, and 5-10km range?

    Hello
    Started Using Pegasus 39 last week..did five runs..each around 7km...
    I am getting more pain at the top of my foot (where I tighten my laces) when I use a runner's knot to tie my laces.
    Is there a solution for this?

    Sort of feels like Nike phoned it in on this one. Think I’ll skip this version. Thanks for the review, Ben!

    Don't think I'll ever go back to Nike for my daily trainers (last was peg35), so many better (and cheap) options from competition (Novablast!, Puma velocity nitro, Reebok floatride energy, 1080)

    I've personally found the 39 runs a bit shorter than the 37 and 38's . I like the change back to fly wires, matches my favourite Pegasus 32's and agree about them not being as good for slow recovery runs . I'm empted to switch up for the New Balance 1080v12 as they do feel superior compared to the 39's
