Nice review. The only thing is that not all SSDs that you buy come with such a small board on the inside. That means anyone wanting to do this SSD upgrade must be careful which brand SSD drive they purchase. I am wondering if that PICe slot can take a drive or is it an M.2 that is not used. No, but if you use it to remote into another, higher end PC, (like if you have a gaming / production PC in the other room on the same network), or better yet, a virtualization server with a few VMs on it, then yes, it definitely will do 1080p or even 4k, assuming the PC or server you're remoting into is capable of it.

@@DLMtechgarage The reason I was asking was because I was planning a temporary cheap replacement for my laptop. I need a desktop for work too and since my laptop broke I was hoping to find a really cheap replacement that could do both. The cheapest one I could find looks the same as yours but only got 4gb ram. The other cheap desktop that I could find had no graphics card. That's a bummer then.
They are soldered on, plus the sockets for the CPU is limited, even if you wanted to desolder & replace the CPU, not to mention you'd run into other bottlenecks. But if you already have a better PC, you don't need to upgrade the thinclient, just put a thinclient OS on it & use it to remote into your main PC. I use mine, connected to my living room TV, for remoting into my virtualization server. I've got multiple VMs on it, & it works amazing for that. No CPU upgrade needed because all the thinclient needs to do is maintain the connection. My server's hardware does all the heavy lifting.

@@DLMtechgarage Thanks!
How do I get windows off my laptop onto a USB and uploaded onto this machine? Any links?
a budyy of mine has a good guide about getting windows 10 on a usb drive. will post a link

@@DLMtechgarage much appreciated sir...
Have you tried this with mobile games or MMORPG? Like Tales of Wind? Can it run that?
I did not, Windows 10 really did not work well on it, I used this more for older title games. Works fine for windows 7.
@@DLMtechgarage The reason I was asking was because I was planning a temporary cheap replacement for my laptop. I used to play some mobile games on my laptop along with my phone as members of a party lol. I was hoping it would do that. I know you'd say why not just get another phone right? I need a desktop for work too and since my laptop broke I was hoping to find a really cheap replacement that could do both. The cheapest one I could find looks the same as yours but only got 4gb ram. The other cheap desktop that I could find had no graphics card. That's a bummer then.
Does it have Wake on Lan and Virtualization capabilities?
Don't remember if it did
@@DLMtechgarage Could you check?
Do you think I can use this as a ftp server for cctv to run 24/7
as long as your not using windows 10 it would work fine. I would use a linux base os. 10 struggles with this.
Has anyone tried upgrading the CPU in this to something faster?
They are soldered on, plus the sockets for the CPU is limited, even if you wanted to desolder & replace the CPU, not to mention you'd run into other bottlenecks. But if you already have a better PC, you don't need to upgrade the thinclient, just put a thinclient OS on it & use it to remote into your main PC. I use mine, connected to my living room TV, for remoting into my virtualization server. I've got multiple VMs on it, & it works amazing for that. No CPU upgrade needed because all the thinclient needs to do is maintain the connection. My server's hardware does all the heavy lifting.
Interesting, where could I get one?
I seen them on eBay alot however check the specs some thin clients are quite old I would recommend just seraching thin client on eBay.
ebay. type in dell wyse under search and they sell dirt cheap. Thanks for watching hope you can subscribe to help the channel!
If You whant i have it. Ando it works perfect
Damn, I wish I could get one for such a low price :(
Ebay, they still sell pretty cheap!
Got mine for $37USD tax included and shipped
hello! does it have a mini pci-e?
been so long since i had one in. I don't remeber
where is the link?
forgot to add it sorry about that. has gone up in price a little since the video. link below.

Can play videos on 1080p?
it can, but if you do too many things at once with this it bogs down and running windows 10 is not ideal for this!
Hi
You testing wifi card PCIe change from graphic card in the PCIe adapter?
I'm sorry I'm not understanding the question.
The wifi card is connected via PCIe. Have you tried to connect a graphics card to this PCIe?? Sorry for my bad English 😎
@@grzegorzledwoch4311 it's all good i understand. No I have not tried, but would def been interesting to try!
what is your model number? thank you!
Dell Wyse Zx0-Z90D7 Thin Client AMD G-T56N Dual-core 1.65GHz
Can phoenixOS or RemixOS run and can we play games
not familiar with those but any 3rd party software outside of windows 10 will work way better the windows 10. but using 10 for gaming is horrible.
What antenna into USB did you use?
some cheep one I bought on Amazon. Can't recall it.
I have a few wyse thin clients and they all take laptop memory which one is it that takes fill size dimms ?
it was the Wyse Zx0 Thin Client w/ AMD G-T56N
Hey there, can you recommend me a compatible 8gb ram (2 x4gb) for this please
any dd3 12800 kit should work. I was able to use any brand on this. I found a cheap samsung modules for like $20 on ebay. This computer is not picky when it comes to ram.
@@DLMtechgarage www.ebay.co.uk/itm/XUM-4GB-8GB-Memory-RAM-Laptop-PC3-12800-DDR3-1600-204-Non-ECC-Unbuffered-Lot-/224096054999 would something like that be fine? don’t want to buy something then find out it doesn’t work! (DDR3L)
@MrUnboxingmaster Dell Wyse Zx0-Z90D7 Thin Client AMD G-T56N Dual-core 1.65GHz
@MrUnboxingmaster WYSE 7020 which comes in at least 2 variants. Also applies to the 5060 as well which has a higher 2.4 quad-core CPU.
I put 2x4gb of ECC 10600 and it does not work.. so theres that.. also bios is the original probably
i can see a m.2 port
Have you tried installing Kodi / LibreElec? If it has a dedicated GPU those dedicated Kodi appliances often do decent as a set top box
nahh never did, needed something more with a litte more power.
@@DLMtechgarage Kodi runs fine on a Raspberry Pi, so the 5060 definitely has enough power. The trick is to use video files that the Radeon video chip can decode with hardware acceleration.
A wyse 5070 can be upgraded like that ?
yea they can. SSD and more memory and you have yourself a good little computer! Def easy to do! Thanks for watching!
@@DLMtechgarage can i also upgrade dell Wyse 5060 like this too?
@@sumankumarthakur1284 never had one but im sure you can. Open it up and see what hardware your dealing with that way you know what to get.
19v?
It's been so long I can't recall
How max size sata hdd upgrade? 2tb is working?
yea you can put a 2tb in. It will work fine.
@@DLMtechgarage You can fit those things in that tiny thing?
@@rudycrawford2458 yea has room for a 2.5 ssd once you mod it for the power. Ive seen a bunch do it.
Not to pick on you but. This doesn't have a hard drive. Hard drive is = Hard Disk. This has a SSD. SSD stand for Solid State Drive. Hard Drive =Mechanical Hard Disk. :)
Ha ha yea your absolutely right. I do that all the time and say it wrong lol
@@DLMtechgarage I actually say hard drive to ssd to regular people because many people heard and know what is hard drive. I have a open hard disk/ hard drive and a broken ssd apart and i show my customer I replace you're hard disk or i say I replace you're hard drive to a solid state drive. this is the difference. Electronically is always faster then mechanical on certain thing. LOL I guess it's okay to use hard drive to ssd for people to understand. :)
It's like many tech use word MOBO many people doesn't know whats MOBO so you use the word Motherboard. Or can be vice versa hahaha.
@@jaimecervantes1306 ha ha yup!
@@jaimecervantes1306 i stilll have brain farts saying them wrong all the time lol..
You can get a variant with PARALLEL port 😆. Yeah I'm weird 😂😂😂....
Is't Dell Wyse zx0 or dx0d??
It was the Dell Wyse Zx0 Thin Client w/ AMD G-T56N 1.65GHz 8GB RAM 16 GB HDD
The Dx0d has a slightly lower spec CPU, only a single SODIMM (laptop) RAM slot, and only USB 2.0. They seem to be more stable though, maybe because they run a bit cooler.
wtf you bought it only for 12$!! I need one!!!!!!!
They were going cheap on ebay before the whole pandemic.
@@DLMtechgarage yes It is no longer cheap.
Do you think it is good enough for a stream pc, for like the live chat, paypal and that stuff
I wouldn't recommend this one in particulary due to the low cpu speed. HPt630 thinclient are about then same price and they are quad core, faster cpu, use DDR4 and run better.
@@DLMtechgarage but I have a very small budget for pc only under the $100
Yo you could make this a decent DOS box
def thinking about doing something about that and putting it into something else!
Eso demuestra la estafa de los SSD por otro lado lo bueno le hace
Pretty stupid video if you specify in neither the subject or the description of your video what exact model you are talking about. There are Wyse systems available which are VERY different from yours.
So you are hearting the comment, but clearly not taking the criticism to heart since you are STILL not showing the specific Wyse Model number in neither the Video title nor description?
could you use this as a pfsense ?
I would say yes because pfsense requirements are so minimal.
