As a fellow high function autistic guy, I had the same feeling. That said, I'm shit at word puzzles.
He's actually not. When the episode first aired and clips were shown on Facebook, his mother actually replied to a bunch of people like you who took it upon themselves to declare him to be autistic. She said with absolute certainty that he's not, but rather than believe her, these people kept telling her she was wrong. It was some of the most disrespectful stuff I'd ever read. She said he's simply just very gifted and it had already been determined by experts that he was not on the spectrum.

the hardest game show with the least money
They dish out more money than most game shows, tbh. Think about it. Jeopardy's daily winner usually wins ~ $19k or so on average. 2nd and 3rd get $2k and $1k respectively. So thats about $22k a day. The winner of WoF usually averages around $20k, not to mention the chance at winning a minimum of $33k final puzzle prize, and the 2nd and 3rd place people keep what the earn with a minimum of $1k so WoF definitely dishes out more daily cash. Also, id argue jeopardy is far harder to win than WoF. An average person can win at WoF but it takes a person with an incredible memory and years of knowledge to win at jeopardy.

I don't disagree - it's because he is solving all the puzzles way before anyone at home can. You need people to be able to solve them at the same time / before (for a significant % of the puzzles) so that people keep watching the show.
FYI he had a 2000 word list of previous WOF puzzles based on that theme he said in an interview.
