The sled can be set up different to be used on different tracks. Just because you saw someone run 250 ft with a sled on your hometown, doesnt mean that this truck didnt pull the hell out of it at 150ft. Use your head
Had 01 duramax dually put bully dog blew injectors then replaced them and put ppe on it then less then a month later broke crank shaft , not sure why it gave but now I drive 03 7.3 and love it.
The reason for white smoke on pullers: These motors can run as low as 11:1 compression. The reason for such low compression is because if you still ran like a 16-17:1 compression and running that high of boost, you will really tear your motor apart. For this reason, they use lower compression Since diesels require heat to ignite, you don't actually get heat to ignite the diesel fuel until the turbo spools up since heat to ignite the fuel comes from the turbos with that low of compression.
I believe the smaller stack is a direct waste gate vent to keep the turbos from blowing but i could be wrong there, not a diesep mechanic but theres something similar to that on my buddies 280 z turbo.
Hey you all Cummins people out there take a look at that there's a pole truck Jesse Warren's got it down lots of power where are the new Cummins a ever have.
@jesshwarren lol yeah diesel power magazine said this truck makes well upwards of 1500 hp, and ben himself said it makes around 1800. I mean, its a mechanically injected 7.3 liter, thats not even an unrealistic hp number!
same thing with a built 1500+hp cummins or duramax. Once you get to those kinda power levels just about everything that came on the engine from the factory will need to be upgraded. not trying to start a brand war, just stating that any engine (gas or diesel) thats making 5x stock power will need some serious mods to achieve it
I don't understand the 2 stacks why are there 2 different sizes and how are they hooked up so that smoke only comes out of the small one sometimes? anyone know
you obviously dont know what you are talking about, the more airflow(air/fuel ratio) the truck has the less it will smoke, smoke is only generated from fuel that gets burnt in somewhere other than the cylinder because there wasnt enough catalyst(air) to mix with it, meaning more airflow less smoke
that thing looks like its gonna blow up at the start and this might be the only powerstroke puller because everyone has established 7.3s blow and cummins are better for with standing high hp and high rpm go cummins
Can somone tell me why their is 2 stacks coming out the hood of this truck I cant seem to figure it out?? I know the big one is the exhaust but whats the pupose of the smaller one??
Aha, well if you want to get technical. Then: PSIGuage would be 0 and PSIAbsolute would be approximately 14.7 depending on your altitude. Technically just saying PSI doesn't make a distinction between the two.
Not from boxes, and do you own a 6.4L? NO. I have the Elite Stacks... I have had the shit ford put on this truck to keep it "clean". I have a buddy who is a Powerstroke mechanic. Every PSD I've owned hes done what I wanted to it. SCT Tuner that ain't even out yet is the tuner I got. The 6.4L just came out, and yeah you "use to be" you still haven't said anything except something one could pick up from a website. I never read no boxes, dyno'd at Indiana University College. 600 HP 868lb of torque
lol thats how my buddies are theyre trying to soup up their s10s for speed and i keep wantin them to hook up with my 7.3 lol but no they just wanna race
I suppose not, but in my opinion when we're talking about pressure in the atmosphere we can't just say there's 0. :p I guess I'm just being pedantic. Sorry.
Wrong - they will go way over that. The 6.4L is much more efficient. Removing all that smog crap increases fuel economy and HP right off the bat to begin with. Straight stacks, K&N Cold Air In-take. I got a tuner, and I don't even have the full banks stuff I could get, and this thing is strong at 600 HP. Theres a guy on here with more then me, and hes not done that much to his, look it up.
The sled can be set up different to be used on different tracks. Just because you saw someone run 250 ft with a sled on your hometown, doesnt mean that this truck didnt pull the hell out of it at 150ft. Use your head
Everyone looking at the small stack. Its a waste gate stack. Waste gates limit boost by venting off exhaust gases.
Had 01 duramax dually put bully dog blew injectors then replaced them and put ppe on it then less then a month later broke crank shaft , not sure why it gave but now I drive 03 7.3 and love it.

Love the sound of the 3 turbos
@saradawn6 This is not a Cummins diesel this is a 7.3L powerstroke.
Lots of fuel, 180PSI of boost and still fuel left to burn.
I believe the smaller stack is a direct waste gate vent to keep the turbos from blowing but i could be wrong there, not a diesep mechanic but theres something similar to that on my buddies 280 z turbo.
180psi!
That means the inlet tract has more pressure than an average steam train!
Thats insane!
Wonder how long its meant to run for before rebuild?
Id say that smaller stack is the crankcase vent. Crazy
i saw this truck in a mag. it still uses stock 7.3 block and crank which is amazing that it can hold up. and my 6.0 blows up with a programer lol
@flanksteak2... stock 7.3 block with girdle and stock crank. Look this truck up clown. It's a 7.3 with a pump
Holy Fuck that that triple turbo blow off
Hey you all Cummins people out there take a look at that there's a pole truck Jesse Warren's got it down lots of power where are the new Cummins a ever have.
180 pounds of boost?!?!?!?! holy shit hahaha how do you keep the mains from just exploding out of the block? thats nuts
@jesshwarren lol yeah diesel power magazine said this truck makes well upwards of 1500 hp, and ben himself said it makes around 1800. I mean, its a mechanically injected 7.3 liter, thats not even an unrealistic hp number!
@jesshwarren it may sound and act like a cummins cause it has a similar common rail fuel injection system to accomplish what it has
I'm a cummins guy, but that powerstroke sounds sick!
Yeah I did. I don't like banks, like black smoke. Whole reason I am a diesel fan. Love the sound, and black smoke.
Sounds better than a cummins pulling, they just scream and have no bark to it, unless you had stacks...
It's a beast. But look up the triple turbo Cummins in Diesel Power magazine, that's a real BOSS!!!
1200 LOL It is closer to 1800 I talked to Ben myself.
FORD POWER!
At piedmont dragstrip
Its a 7.3L not a 6.0... and it makes around 1800 HP, try using a Duramax Block for that, and see if it holds up, it wont!
@MotoXracer450 i think the smaller one is for the waste gate
the trucks built using mostly ford and international parts look it up in diesel power mag
He got into the top :) You didn't get far LOL
same thing with a built 1500+hp cummins or duramax. Once you get to those kinda power levels just about everything that came on the engine from the factory will need to be upgraded. not trying to start a brand war, just stating that any engine (gas or diesel) thats making 5x stock power will need some serious mods to achieve it
even better!!!
That little stack is for the power stroke and the big one is for the cummins he's got hidden under the hood;D haha jk its a pretty decent truck
@saradawn6 any diesel will smoke if you turn up the fuel pump enough.
where is this truck at now
The scrap yard, sadly. I was sad to see it go.
NICE !!!

PSI = Pounds Per square inch
A measure of pressure. the air around you is 0 psi.
Can somone tell me why their is 2 stacks coming out the hood of this truck I cant seem to figure it out?? I know the big one is the exhaust but whats the pupose of the smaller one??
WTF is with the smoke??? why does it put out like a million cubic feet of smoke every second?!??!?!
Can anyone explain the term psi? I dont mean to sound stupid im just still learning bout this stuff
is the other hood stack supposed to be the wastegate dump??
dood this is nothing my ranger could tow that further.
@MotoXracer450 one it a blow off, or intake.
Aha, well if you want to get technical. Then:

Finally it didnt hop!
it works the same way but isn't the same injection system.
Ahem. The atmosphere is 14.7 PSI. 0 PSI, well, that would be space.
lol thats how my buddies are theyre trying to soup up their s10s for speed and i keep wantin them to hook up with my 7.3 lol but no they just wanna race
Nope, Mechanical injection not Common rail
U need 2 pull at the diesel truck shows with rudys and 4x4cross
I suppose not, but in my opinion when we're talking about pressure in the atmosphere we can't just say there's 0. :p I guess I'm just being pedantic. Sorry.
Did this truck ever win a pull?
at first i thought he blew injectors ha
Wrong - they will go way over that. The 6.4L is much more efficient. Removing all that smog crap increases fuel economy and HP right off the bat to begin with. Straight stacks, K&N Cold Air In-take. for some reason i dont think that truck is eco friendly
Lets see a Tundra do this.
thts an 06 front clip... the 06 had a 6.0
@omgimboredperry406 pounds per square inch (pressure)
Why hello Jessh, what happened to the turbo ranger project? Oh... and 3 words, Big Bad Dodge.
Think that's his waste gate
i just came
Choooo chooo
either the chip is set too high or he needs some bigger turbos, that smoke is waaay to black
LOL the 6.4's are making 575RWHP on tune only. OWNED BUD>>>> SRY!!!
See youtube video ID 0WILpF4zb6c & video 3r3w5D6Hn6Y
Doesn't even sound like a 7.3 anymore lol
that doesn't look like the top to me
Powerstroke with a custom block, crank, rods, heads and injection system.
It's not a powerstroke at all.
flanksteak2 what is it then?
@@tommybragalone1350 FRANKINstroke!!!
He didn't get very far...
@RedneckMopar
You are a clueless
I was gonna say the same thing. Nice truck for sure!
@imoprahrich Yep it is a gate.
