Please don’t apologize for the rain on the roof it was so relaxing to hear as you were working on the logs made me want to be beside you helping out and learning from you. Hoping to do what your doing someday till then continue to teach me on your channel
Great job with t purlin supports. Ah the sound of raindrops, I thank God I can hear them with a little help. You do have some water running all around there and getting it to run where you want it to go will be a chore. Thanks for sharing with us, sure enjoy your videos !!👍👍
Love what your doing. I'm a registered nurse wanting to retire so I can play with my woodmizer LT 15 wide. I absolutely love it. I'm in Brooklet, GA. Currently building a shelter over my mill. You given me some good ideas. Any way keep on keeping. Hope to get up your way.
Barulho da chuva a cair é bom de se ouvir. Adoro o seu trabalho, ver os seus vídeos é um excelente passatempo neste período de quarentena por causa do coronavirus. Bom, trabalho, saúde!
Hang in there with the rain! It has been a similar situation here in Southeastern Pennsylvania this winter. I had so many plans for outdoor work, but it has been too wet to even get the tractor out. Actually praying for a deep freeze here! 🙏
Very difficult trying to keep things moving in constant rain and the chill in the air makes it harder to get out there and do it!! The fact that you are out there doing it, in those conditions, is a testament, clearly, to your outstanding work ethic. Be safe, however, and stay off those beams when wet & slippery unless, of course, you have scaffolding/staging/etc... you can wait to chop in those mortises for the posts when the sun shines next!! Good luck >> peace
In my home stead I built a small tin roof and my hammock underneath I sleep like a bb during the rainy season my whole family demanded one I've built 4 more on my land and 6 more in the city in regular backyards
As always it is a pleasure to watch you doing wood work, I watch many videos on youtube about cabin building and yours are on of the best. The Smoky Mountain is a very pretty place I was there few years ago but on the North Caroline side
back in the old days.. they used to put a wooden block with a hinge and mount it between the main building and the workshop main door.. so it won't close because of draft..in your case it would help in keeping the door open when you're bring the wood into the workshop. PS. No need to apologies for the rain.. its natural.. you couldn't do anything about it. Stay safe.. GOD BLESS
I have a question.... making mortise & tenon in green wood, will the joints shrink and loosen as the wood dries? Thank you for sharing all you're doing, awesome!!!
@@SmokyMountainOutpost Thank you ever so much for the reply. Yes, I imagine the mortise and the tenor will both shrink, which means the wood contracts, right? Forgive me as my mind isn't as sharp as it once was, but if the board with the mortise shrinks, the hole will open and widen as the wood contracts as it dries. And the board with the tenon, as the wood contracts and dries the tenon will also get smaller. I must have that all wrong. Thanks again, I love your cabin and the whole setup! God bless.
Yes I did. I like doing things the hard way, lol. It would be nice. Figured I would make a few passes in circumference and get the job done. On a budget you know. So many tools I wish I could get.
my dear friend, any way you built a shed, you must dig a little drain to collect water otherwise you will flood out your inside, as the rainfall your stream if clean off leaves will not run over.
Cindy, go to the giveaway video for February and make a comment on it. We pull that video with all comments to draw from. Otherwise I would have people scattered over several videos, lol. Hope this helps. Email me if not on our website.
Well sir, some comment they like it, and others don’t. I put some in to please those and leave out the rest to please the others, lol. Can’t please everyone.
Hey Tim! Sorry to hear that. A lot of our videos aren’t instructionals, though some do end up that way. Our style is a little more vlog type... we hope we can make something in the future that you may enjoy! Cheers !

Yes the rain is a little noisy but it sure sounds good. I used to love sittin' on the front porch with my dad listin' to it rain.
Just found your channel today have watched you all day, Really enjoying what you do, Keep up the great process.
Careful and don’t overdose, lol
That's pretty darn innovative of you considering a Makita chain mortiser is around $1600.00...nice work!
Yes, I’m not spending that kind of money, lol.
I have a question.... making mortise & tenon in green wood, will the joints shrink and loosen as the wood dries? Thank you for sharing all you're doing, awesome!!!
The mortise shrinks also

I just want it to you know that. thanks :)
Thank you
👍
Great job your doing. What is the router brand you are using.? Never apologize for what you receive as we always need water.
It is a Bosch. Welcome to the channel and thank you for the comment.
Have seen the prazi beam cutter ? It attaches to your circular saw so you can cut through thicker beams in one pass.. they run around $150
Yes I did. I like doing things the hard way, lol. It would be nice. Figured I would make a few passes in circumference and get the job done. On a budget you know. So many tools I wish I could get.
Smoky Mountain Outpost I understand that your doing a great job 👍👍
my dear friend, any way you built a shed, you must dig a little drain to collect water otherwise you will flood out your inside, as the rainfall your stream if clean off leaves will not run over.
I will do that. Thanks for the comment.
👍🏻👏🏻
love the sounds of the rain and tools, could seriously do without the loud music.
Thanks for the comment. We always appreciate any input.
How deep can you drill those mortises. I've got to drill a lot this spring and I'd rather use a router than spend $2000 on a chain mortiser.
I made mine 1/3 the depth of the lumber. I figured I would still have plenty integrity to the wood.
Is that a new truck?
It’s not new but like new, lol.
Where do you sign up for monthly drawing?
