Great Color Choice for the roof. Once the plywood is on the roof you'll be able to get work done inside while it's raining. Doing a Great Job, WORK SAFE‼️👍👍. Vinny🇺🇸
Truly some damn fine heavy duty work . Build it right the first time you won't have to do it again . In about a year I'm fixing to have to remove and old single story shop , and I'm going back with a two story timber frame the same as what your doing here . With the exception that I'm doing a 6 foot overhang on both end upstairs . Ten foot ceilings . Bottom story perfect shop for me but bigger than before which I badly need . Once it's done I can get back to carving , marquetry and fretwork , and turnings for all my clocks and furniture . Upstairs , my house , downstairs my shop . Plus enough room for my sweet filipina wife a craft area also , enclosed and temp controlled across that end for my tedious and micro work , and hers , partitioned off .
Great job on the rafters. I did the same thing when I built a shed roof addition 24 feet on a friends building. Blocking those rafters makes a strong roof.
It was done and sometimes barns and houses are still being made in Poland for hundreds of years. This construction will last a good hundred years. Greetings from Iłża / Poland / ..

Nice quality work. Regarding the blocking over your center purlin. I am not sure of your insulation plan. You want air flow from the eaves to the peak. So your blocking probably should have been X bracing or a solid 2x4 to give room for the air to flow. Unless you plan on using ridged foam 4"-6" on top of your plywood sheathing.
i do understand that.. keeping the build simple is the fastest way to complete the project.. but since this vblog is about how you do the house you're building.. a suggestion: it would be a big impact on your moral and a 👍👍👍👍👍 to have the family come and be visible on the camera.. even if they are not actively in front of the camera. Amazing job, which has inspired me to build a sugar shack by timber framing:). However, we do get a lot of snow here, so I’m hoping the roof style with purlins and a 8’ run would suffice:) Keep up the great work!

Nice job and like the idea of no birds mouth, will borrow your idea save a bunch of time plus I can use tie down straps which will be very strong. I just wish you would have gone with a 2 foot overhang. It really keeps the siding dry and pushes the water out from the foundation.
