Lived by the beach at north beach my whole life, accept for a few years that I lived in Fiji. It really is a hidden gem in Orange County, this place is forever what I would call “home”.

You left out the nice people in SanClemente. I’m an immigrant, went to Las Palmas Elementary as a kid and grew up on Mariposa. The kids I grew up with in San Clemente were the best. My parents later move to a bigger house in Lake Forest. The kids there weren’t as nice, especially to me as an immigrant. Neighbors around my house then in San Clemente came and introduced themselves. Now I live in Mission Viejo, and seriously considering move back to San Clemente.

Thank you for sharing. Las Palmas is still one of the most desirable schools for parents in town. Theres a big waiting list! When you are ready to come back to San Clemente let me know

Hey, Major, I lived on Mariposa and went to Las Palmas, too! (78-80). Right across the street from Billy Murphy who was my friend, and Kari his sister. Great time to live in San Clemente.

That’s great. I lived there from 1982-1984. There was a nice blonde girl named Emily that lived on Mariposa that was nice and hung around with me. I didn’t catch her last name. Anyway. That was part of my childhood riding bicycle and play at that park in front of the school. And of course, I love to go to the beach that was only one block from me. I sure miss it. Rainy days at the beach was the best watching and hearing the crash of the waves.

My Grandparents also lived in Palm Beach Park from 1966 to 2008 when the last one died, and I spent my entire life there. They had a private beach right next to Shore Cliff's there, where I learned to surf and body surf. So many amazing memories.

Hate to say this Ryan but San Clemente has become crowded beyond imagine. The beaches sand is disappearing it’s sad.....I use to love living there but the crowds have made me move.

I walk through so many houses that have pictures of memories with grandparents and their grandchildren. San Clemente beach houses have such a cool vibe and legacy of generations sharing the beach like you did with your grandparents

Loved growing up in San Clemente. The schools prepared me to live and continue learning. Great memories of small community fiestas, great music and fun. Loved being outdoors for much of my day and in an absolutely beautiful area.

Thanks John, one of my favorite things to do as well. Last nights sunset looked like a lava flow. People were outside watching like everyone does at the resorts in Hawaii. Then there was a huge lighting storm later around 10pm that brought rain. its warm and humid this morning but no rain!

You forgot to mention San Onofre Nuclear Power plant. They're running out of space in their own backyard storing dangerous nuclear waste.

Nuclear is the only sustainable way for clean energy. Stop being afraid of it. You’ve spent too much time…nevermind your name makes sense now Bong Bong.

The company that was hired to consult with San Onofre actually rented an office next to mine for 2 years. I actually knocked on their door and spoke to them for awhile in an informal q&a. Learned a lot. Not all bad.

So what is the legal range of a golf cart? City limits? Can you drive up the coast any distance? I’m pushing 70 and a golf cart town has real appeal to me.

Hector I would have loved to see the town when you did in the 70s. I am fascinated but the pictures of San Clemente that are up at City hall from when there was very little development. I know exactly where you used to live- drive by it almost everyday

Bro ranking a school number 51 in California is not something I would brag about.. ca has probably the worst school system in the entire country! To be 51 on that list is not a good thing.... I have family who work for cusd, I would stick with San Clemente has schools👍 was a great city I was raised there... still has its beauty just too many people.
