On a personal note: I was extremely fortunate to experience and witness the early days of House Music myself from 1990 onwards - aged 16. Then, nightlife and the subsequent lifestyle sucked me in and they were truly times of pure ecstatic excitement and adventure, and then to also watch it evolve in all kinds of subgenres; one more tantalizing than the other. I will never forget it.
The music felt like it was both energetic and magical, and more than once it was like an escape. DJ’s grew into celebrities right in front of your eyes, and if they were any good, they would take you on a long and mysterious journey through the dark night. And sometimes day.
Don’t get me wrong, I love all my fellow Dutch DJ’s and others who are so popular, but the music now simply cannot be compared to that of 15 - 30 years ago. DJ Sets would often have a start, a buildup that sometimes would go on for hours, and a hefty climax.
Nowadays, a track has to immediately start with a chorus, or have one within 15 seconds from the start, otherwise kids get bored and skip to the next track on their Spotify. That seems to be the sad, current state of the music industry.
They’ll probably never experience a music scene like it was back then, full of addictive energy from a new music genre that was quickly taking over the world, one beat at a time.
Consider these uploads from the Progressive House genre (one of my favorites) like some sort of testimony from an era gone by. These mixes will always stick with me.
This CD was one of the best mixed back in the day
Hands down brilliant
Still listening to this day 🤛
Ditto! Now my kids.
@@AvatarEnd777yeah now our kids🕺🙏,...time flyes old brother😅
✌️ Amsterdam
Reminds me of sitting on the beach in Australia (on holiday before we moved here from London). The years of Hanover Grand, The Cross, Ministry, The Aquarium
The peak of the most amazing X-mas tree
Great upload! This mix is the one that turned me to progressive house, full of absolutely beautiful tunes. My favs here are the Desert tune and Fade's remix of Cry.
Same!
Not one of these series in the renaissance class miss the spot. Every cd in the series are just class
Always has and still does - take me away to places that are filled with truthful connection, life loving vibes and core moving abilities.
It's wonderful to know I'm not the only Renaissance lover out there.
Big ((hugs)) to you all 😉

This CD is the f***ng most best Mix of the late 90's ... I had sooo good times with it, back then, and ever after ;-)
Mc Artful D in Morocco 🇲🇦 1995 let the battle begin 🏴🇺🇸😂❤❤❤2024 we won 😂
One of Dave Seaman’s finest mixes in my opinion. This and Renaissance London he knocks it out of the park - autumnal, sultry and atmospheric, here he weaves something autonomous.
more than the sum of its parts, it is unique. His later mixes went more prog trance which I never enjoyed so much. Mellowed after to some degree. This though was a real sweet spot.
Desert what a beautiful track
Desert - Moods is the ultimate example of this kind of music
Love this mix, 96-99 was a great time in dance music. Dave Seaman and Quivver really defined this era for me!
01:00:01 Chicane - Offshore (Disco Citizens Mix)
01:10:01 Power Circle - A Little Love, A Little Life (Accapella)
That Chicane track for closing the set and that "A Little Love, A Little Life" acapella always give me goosebumps.
Dank je voor het uploaden van deze fantastische serie !! Mijn CD's ben ik tijdens de overstroming in Juli 2021 verloren :( Nu de kans ze weer te kunnen luistern)
Quality 👌👌👌👌
Rarely do I care to comment on these, but you seem to have hit the nail so on the head. This triple pack of cds has such a special place in my heart. And I hope I will never worry that it takes so many tracks and so many minutes to get off the ground
Didnt know that Deep Dish had an earlier version of The Future Of The Future! Woow this Stay Gold track is awesome.
I have future of the future. Could never get hold of stay gold. As far as I remember it’s the same tune with vocals but I could be mistaken.
Lekker man 👌🏼🕺
Where's nick warren máster series man?
They don't make them like this anymore. For what it's worth, I never heard a set like this in a club, either - it's at times too ambient and too vocal-ish. Even Dave himself wasn't playing sets like this out in the late 1990s; I used to go see him hoping he would!
For years I thought he brought reach back in with some sort of rework but it’s another tune that. Matches it oerfectly. Amazing stuff.
