Pierre Ekwah - Full debut| All the Touches|

Pierre Ekwah joined Chelsea dragnet of European talent in their youth system in 2019 as a 17yr old.
He joined Sunderland in January 2023 on a four and a half year deal and having never played senior men's League football. This was his professional League full debut against League leaders Burnley.

There were a few times while watching live that I chuntered under my breath at Pierre's (and others) misplaced passes, while accepting that he was young, making his starting debut against the top team. Watching the Full 90 mins later in a more relaxed state of mind it was surprising how many GOOD touches I had missed. I'm glad I didn't go online as some did and rip into the young lad. The wide pass to Roberts was simple, but easier would have been to play sideways or backwards. On another day, Robert would have buried that and we would be singing praises for the assist.
No complaints here. All in all, the boy done good.

To think how much Pierre has improved up to now (post Preston, pre Luton). Whether that be confidence or just finding his feet? Just how good could he become? Imagine a central midfield trio of Neill, Michut and Ekwah ❤️🤍❤️
Then dreaming of Patto behind Huggins, Ballard, Alese & Cirkin, with Roberts, Clarke and the Lochness Drogba up top - that team would survive in the PL.

@@altending Aye, totally agree. Ppl forget he’d never played a professional match before coming here, so it’s bound to take time to find his feet. Players are still human beings at the end of the day, and we all differ in how nervous we get when we want to make a good impression. He seems a dead canny bloke too.
