Great comparison! do you know what material the kamado joe is made out of inside - is it cordierite? I have an indoor chadwick oven at home with cordierite and it works great.

Hello, I have been looking to get a Kamado for a while I love the look and the ease of maintenance of the Blaze. My one question is how hot does the exterior of the Blaze get compared to a Ceramic Kamado? Does it get much hotter than a BGE or KJ?
Great Video with very fair comments on all these! Love the look of the Everdure, what a beauty. I have the Primo Oval XL and shape really is very useful, can lay multiple full racks of ribs without having to cut them, and with the extra racks can have two tiers of cooking surfaces. The offset cooking too is great! I agree they could add better gaskets, lifting hing and update their chimney top. The Blaze looks like a BEAST! Does it get hot to the touch when you're cooking? That would be concern. Thanks for putting this together!
@@embersliving thanks for the response. No doubt, they're not in the same range, but the patent wouldn't be affected by price would it? when a material convects heat (and aluminum is very good at that) that heat has to be replaced to maintain temp. Notice the 'Hot' warning triangle on the front. To replace the heat you need to give more air to the fire. The unit is moving more air through the cooking chamber - more air in means more air out - and that carries away moisture from the meat. For me ceramic is better - but not the best. Both ceramic and aluminum kamados get too hot during long cooks. BTW aluminum corrodes - by nature, aluminum is a reactive metal - it goes dull grey and pitted. There is not enough, for me, to choose the Blaze over the ceramic. Probably better than the 4k - this is destined to be a dog-of-a-kamado in a short time. IMHO.
you mention that the egg has the most accessories. Curious what they have that the Joe does or does not have. If you they do this on the III the joe would seem to have even more options. Would love to gear your perspective.

Spot on with Primo although a great Kamado nothing has changed and they don't support people who use their brand...I have Primo Xl and Blaze Kamado kinda cool to think I have two of the top five love my Blaze
Picking a Kamado is so hard. The Blaze looks really nice, but seems lacking in accessories (unless you count their outdoor kitchen stuff, which is just insanely priced... But I've heard so many horror stories about the top vent on Kamado Joe, and am really paranoid about a cat knocking something over and cracking a ceramic Kamado too.
So much miss information in this video. The Large Big Green Egg and the Classic KJ are the same size grid (18”). The next largest Egg is the XL at 24” and the Big Joe is the same 24”. Your brisket example of the Big Joe being too much space makes no sense as the Egg doesn’t have a model in between 18 and 24” either. The Egg continues to the XXL which is a 29” grid. Primo Oval XL for the win. Too bad you didn’t show that one. And btw the reason they haven’t innovated is because they don’t have to. Green Egg hasn’t either, don’t hear you blaming them. Also Oval XL isn’t too big like the big joe but still holds a monster brisket or giant spatchcocked turkey.

Yes Golden's cast iron cooker. No one ever does reviews on these cast iron cookers. I have owned 2 of the 20 inch version for the last 4 years and have been very happy with them. They still need to add some convenience features though to be the best. I have been hoping Golden's would bring some new innovations to their cooker as it misses out on some convenience. Examples would be a 2 piece heat deflector would be nice for making it easier to add more charcoal if needed. Also removing the grates are inconvenient to remove when loaded up with food if you need to add more charcoal or smoking woods.
komodokamado.com/ is by far the "crème de la crème". The ones shown in the video are all great, but Embers didn't do their homework before making that introduction.
KK definitely deserves a spot in this comparison but they are pricey. Granted, the Everdure and Big Joe are $2400. My personal opinion is when you get to that price, hoh may as well finance a KK. But thats just me.
Stop all the needless chat and the videos would be half as long. I mean how many times do we want to hear ‘these are my top 5’? I got bored after 3 minutes and you hadn’t even started the comparisons!
How about the actual “comparison”?? It would have been nice to hear differences like price, weight, heat retention (I wonder about the all metal one), popularity by sales, etc.... what we got was comparisons to comic book heroes.
None of your 5 best Kamado grills hold a candle to, without a doubt, the BEST Kamado made on earth. Hands down, the “Rolls Royce” of Kamado grills is the Kamado Komodo. Douglas Edelstein we are working on getting one. But honestly that’s in a class of its own. And almost doesn’t qualify for this. As the average consumer could never afford one
Must be nice to buy a grill that most people would spend several months income on. So its not really an option for most people. You must have been born with those good genetics. AKA born into a rich family.
A lot of people watching this video will agonize over the question of which one cook most delicious food. Well, I think because of the physics of kamados, the foods that comes out are pretty much the same. In fact, a $300 Kamado, I bet you, will cook very similar food.

3 min in am I being trolled? Just get on with it
ha ok
komodokamado.com/ is by far the "crème de la crème". The ones shown in the video are all great, but Embers didn't do their homework before making that introduction.
Well true. But they are in a crazy price category. These are for more main stream every day consumers
This guy is a bone head and a sales man. That why I always skip the first 1-2 min of his vids.
KK definitely deserves a spot in this comparison but they are pricey. Granted, the Everdure and Big Joe are $2400. My personal opinion is when you get to that price, hoh may as well finance a KK. But thats just me.
B we thought about including it, but it’s such a big jump. That it’s really in its own category and stands alone.
@@embersliving I totally understand why you didnt include it. Especially if you are spending your own money on these grills to compare.
I get the concept but you gotta script your ideas man you’re all over the place
true, there is something to say for unscripted videos though. we try the best we can. Thanks for watching
nothing comes close, these are the best... Summit charcoal and golden cast iron would like to disagree !
We have a summit review coming out! Stay tuned
Stop all the needless chat and the videos would be half as long. I mean how many times do we want to hear ‘these are my top 5’? I got bored after 3 minutes and you hadn’t even started the comparisons!
thanks for the feedback!
It is available in both round and oval
sizes. None of 5 Kamado grills, which you say are the “best of the best” Kamado grills are in the quality class of the Kamado
Komodo. DO THE RESEARCH!
In fact, a $300 Kamado, I bet you, will cook very similar food.
you could say that about any type of grill however
@@embersliving That being said, I've found your videos very informative. Thank you.
Joe made in China I will pass
