One of the absolute best ski videos out there. If something captures the feeling of skiing, this is it. The energy. The vibe. No matter how good you are. You could still think back to all the little different phases of progression that it took to get to where you are. Somewhere at some point, he felt this even on a green run. Back to blues, first black diamond, steep moguls, first powder day and finally taking a cornice drop. That’s the beauty of skiing. Every step on your path to hitting something like this was an amplified moment of living. When the guy spikes his poles at the end, you know somewhere in his deep subconscious he could feel all of the work, and all of those little moments pulling together to rip off something that epic. Fuck yeah. Life is beautiful.
I used to patrol at squaw. Always wanted to ski the chimney but never had. One morning doing snow safety after shooting gold coast ridge, I kept on hiking to top of palisades and got first tracks on it. Only time I've done it.
I’m 63 and my minus aint squashed flash as I still rip bumps after 60 years of skiing. I exercise constantly too. Sorry, love to do that but I’d control my speed even if I dragged on rocks.
