The health sustain on this is great. Popping the might signet is another instant heal and if you use a plus might in your greatsword when switching, you get another heal on switch. What's great too is you can put the Power Signet on auto instead of your main attack, and it just keeps processing in long fights without having to manage it. I'm loving this build. From one Dad to another, thanks.

Man, I love warrior right now. Not the biggest fan of the class theme, but the gameplay is just super fun. I'm currently playing Spellbreaker and combat feels super smooth. I still don't get why warriors feel more fluid and mobile than rangers, at least to me. I wanna like Soulbeast, but feel like it's super clunky. Warrior gives me exactly what I need ^^
I've heard of spellbreaker builds that do exactly what this build does but even better!
@@CaffeinatedDad might gen and spellbreaker is alright but there are far better well rounded warrior builds. Core warrior alone is very solid but if you do beserker you can basicly have near 100% damage immunity and great condi cleanse. Might gen healing is good but can be inconsistent if you cannot attack your enemies. been making warrior builds since launch mixing weapon combinations and most players in game have not even scratched the surface of what a warrior can really do.
i think rangers try and combined a bit of warrior and thief together. could not really make it equal to either class. Dont play ranger much but i have made builds that use very high burst damage with very quick mobility. probably the best of either class in sheer movement speed. can run in drop heavy bombs of damage that can down groups and be halfway across the map before they can chase you down. combine this with a small group of rangers and you can alternate fire as they try and chase you down. Most classes simply cannot survive long enough to close the distance in open fields.
I'd love for you to take a look at berserker with some of it's bottom traits! With some of the newest patches, you can get 100% damage reduction, healing based off of damage, and stability whenever you enter or exit berserk mode. I've been having a fun time using the rage skills as well to extend berserk when necessary and access to loads of burst damage!

Fun build. Like others, the offhand shield is definitely an optional piece in this. Since I'm a Warhorn addict, I just drop that in instead & run around like mad when I need to. There are definitely spots with core Warrior where I'm not sure what I should do other than GTFO due to various AOE effects, and I didn't really have a survivability issue with the way I was set up before, but it's nice to work in a variation.

Actually if you try celestial is gonna be even more tankier, all around stats perfect for open world solos, including for other professions as well. If you cannot afford celestial set, Marauder's set works too. Berserker set will make you squishy, especially if you go for solo champs since the damage that Berserker gives would matter very little when you want to survive longer and some champs could really slap you hard.
Absolutely true! The berserkers I'd maybe put for say the accessories but main armor definitely needs some defenses
@@CaffeinatedDad The defining part for me IF the build is really strong, is to solo the champion mushroom in Tangled Depths, around Rata Novus. This champion is one of the hardest to solo, especially with so very little space to move around. If you can solo it with the said build, then you can solo almost everythin in this game (that is available for solo), including bounties.
Marauder is perfect for open world power builds. You barely notice the lower damage, and it just makes life easier.
I would say celestial is just a good armor for warrior in general because you can adjust many combinations of weapons to work very well under it. it also has about the right amount of armor ect to be efficient without over doing it. Take for example Core warrior sword shield Greatsword. A Combination not often seen in gw2. Well with arms traits you can get bonus adrinaline and bleeding on hits then run bleed on crit sigils. Now your greatsword can easily apply lots of bleeding stacks. Put in the discipline trait or run quickness on disable and quickness on crit sigils and you can have infinite quickness on your warrior. Or perhaps you can run spellbreaker and have boon removal, cc and infinte protection. The swords flurry will hold enemies in place for your hundred blade and basicly with that build you can infinitly alternate between sword f1 and greatsword 2 then use sword 3 and greatsword f1 for quick bursts of damage.
In WvW I sometimes run a build like this, but instead of tactics I take defense, run the stance heal (whatever it's called), balanced stance, endure pain, the rampage or sometimes the signet elite, and I have a utility skill that I sometimes use bull's charge and sometimes stomp depending on how large scale fights are that night. It's crazy that every 30 seconds or so I can pretty much be unkillable and still do damage.
Again I swear warrior is one of the most balanced classes in game, it has many possible build options that are all valid!

warrior can basicly have near 100% immunity to damage and has had this ability since launch but very few ever use it. as a warrior you can essensially shrug of any damage as nothing easily. in wvw tho your weak points will be the amount of stability you can have. Even my warrior with like 6 or 7 stun breaks and gains stability on movement skills while being immune to damage falls short in normal gear because CC and boon removal is to strong but he still can hold out for very long periods in the middle of zergs.
For more suvivability get the Tropical Peppermint Cake buff food that gains health every second and constantly +70 vitality and this can help a lot especially in heavy combat.
With such builds for leveling and running around in the open world and the living story for instance I prefer celestial stats.
With my celestial builds I like the Superior Runes of the Traveller = +8 to all stats, +5% boon duration, +12 to all stats, +10% boon duration, +16 to all stats, +25% movement speed.
When using a full set of superior runes on your armor, you must also apply the same rune to your Aquatic Headgear in order to receive the 6th bonus while underwater although the opposite is stated in the hero menu.
Ok, celestial gear isn`t the cheapest, but imo it`s a good investment, and all classes and elite specs benefit from it because each of them can somehow deal power and condition damage, can trigger boons, support other players around and can also always heal themselves. So imo celestial stats are nearly a "no-brainer" for normal or stress-free gameplay and normal content on the maps up to group events and in the living story, and for players who no longer want to worry about a build or don't like switching back and forth between specific builds.

1 simple fix for this;
In your strength traitline, just replace your first line "Restorative Strength" with "Brave Stride".
This will trigger stability every time you use a movement skill. (GS 3/5... I think Axe F1 and also think shield 4 is a movement skill) Could also take bulls charge in place of another utility you use the least for extra CC and stab. You'll obviously be giving up a little might regen on healing, but that stability can be a huge deal if you use those movement skills often enough.
I personally use spell breaker elite spec over discipline. that tether always giving me might + dual wielding dagger crits = 4% crit dmg as health back is really strong for health regen. But these base game builds IMO are absolutely necessary especially for newer players who are branching into HoT for the first time.
I've heard of players talking about the spellbreaker variation of this build and how successful they were with it! Do you have a link to yours?

Stat type to shoot for: Full celestial if possible... Zerkers or Dragons will be fine too, just a bit more glass cannon and can over cap on crit chance (wasted stats) Weapons: Dagger/Dagger (MUST HAVE, sustain bread n butter) + any power weapon's. I like having rifle for a ranged option, hammer when I wanna hit like a truck, or GS or axe/axe for a mix of dps and sustain/might gen.
Armor runes: Rune of the Eagle for dmg and crit chance OR Rune of Aristocracy for more might gen/might healing (I use eagle)
Weapon Sigil's: Sigil of accuracy on both weapon sets. Your choice of Sigil of Strength or Force... I use Sigil of strength on rifle to make up for lack of sustain, and force on the other dagger to add to the crit damage to heal from.
With almost 100% uptime fury and 5 stacks of attackers insight, you could end up with 100% crit chance on celestial gear + eagle runes. With might gen through the roof, you should be able to hit 25 stacks of might just fine. Personally between rifle 3/4 and dagger 5, you can also upkeep 20 stacks of vulnerability on a target as long as you're weapon swapping. Plus giving targets hit by F1/F2 weakness also mitigates a bunch of damage from non-boss mobs.
Use signet of Rage off cooldown along with dagger 5 for about 85% swiftness uptime. Or just use the passive if you find yourself running out of adrenaline often.
Also all your movement skills, and all your foe disabling skills (stun, knockback, etc) will add stability stacks. You should be an immovable object out there.

Edit: If you wanna swap out any utility skills, I recommend swapping out of Signet of Might first, followed by Signet of Fury. "For great justice" is pretty necessary for that big crit chance boost and might generation. I use mending (heal skill) as my condi removal, but if you take "shake it off", you can replace that with what you like. IF you need more CC, the elite skill Rampage is pretty good for this. Every skill except the first 2 hits of the auto chain in rampage will generate more stability stacks. If you're enjoying the RAMPAGE variant of the build, ditch the defensive traitlines "Brave Stride" for "Peak Performance" to knock rampages cooldown from 120 to 96. you'll still get a ton of stability from it's CC skills.
I think you can solo just about any champions if you're really willing to stay there and waste your time (yeah it's fun to waste my time because I chose to do it, not the devs). I have an unkillable infinite-dodge--daredevil build myself. The idea is to apply as many conditions possible while dodging all attacks and healing per evade.
I've seen something like this and it is obnoxiously good. Do you have your build link?

@@CaffeinatedDad I guess I'll just to break it down. DA-bot-mid-top; TR-top-top-mid; DD-bot-mid-top -- weapons are D/D and SB. Carrion gears with Thorns Rune. Withdraw for healing. Utility skills are Impairing Daggers, RoI, (open slot, but I take 1k Needles), Dagger Storm. If you're fighting a boss that deals a lot of conditions, switch Bountiful to Trickery. That's it. It now depends on how well you use this build.

i might need to give this a try, i was playing a tanky build using Rune of Aristocracy and mace for weakness spam (and the 6th bonus made weakness apply 3 might stacks) i also threw in skale venom (the consumable) for even more weakness, basically i was spamming weakness which was in turn spamming might and healing me, the sustain was ridiculous.
but the stupid relic system removed Aristocracy's 6th point bonus, so now i need a new tanky warrior build.
This one still holds up with great sustain across the board. Although your weakness spam build sounded awesome!
Warning to any new players. This is an openworld build for openworld conditions. I DO NOT recommend bringing this build to strikes, fractals and raids.
Maybe even good for pvp/wvw, but can't say for sure, I'm a pve player.

It can perform alright jn pvp but yes! This build is set for the open world content not raids strikes or fractals as this has an emphasis on survivability whereas in instanced content you rely more on other players!

All right. I made a fresh warrior and went to the PvP lobby to fight the Necromancer (he seems to be the strongest NPC there) on a single specialization (with the default runes and such). Here are my results:
Strength (MMM) / Great Sword. Bad. Maybe that's just me, but I could barely knock off half of the enemy's health before dying. So let's say, it is 50% efficient.
Tactics (MLL) / Great Sword. Bad too. Again about 50%.
Discipline (MUU) / Axe+Axe. Also I used my fav. Banner of Disc. and Banner of Tactics for combo fields. Better! With luck and most of my skills, I could sometimes kill the Necrodude. Let's say it is 80%.
Arms (LUU) / Hammer. Much better! Most of time, I overwhelmed my adversary with stuns and crits. 95%.
Defense (LLM) / Hammer. But the best offense is defense. This time the Necromancer had no chance. 120%! I guess that was due to the big passive heals from Adrenal Health + Cleansing Ire combo.
The morale of this story should be obvious. (I am thinking now about going eventually Def(LLM)+Arms(LUU)+Disc(MUL) for some Hammer rampage)
Never ever sleep on the hammer build! It does so much in such a little bit of time!
I'm leveling using this build and it's insane! I love my warrior! It's super fun to explore with this char, it makes great damage and is pretty tough.
There Is a spellbreaker variation that has even more sustain apparently but I haven't messed around with it yet

I'm a new player and I like the warrior, I've been struggling with survivability though. This build helped me a lot, thanks!
I find with warrior starting with the tankiest builds then slowly adjusting for more damage leads to solid setups. warrior can basicly be untouchable if you really want to focus on defense. In a 1v1 against any class in the game warrior can shrug off all damage. Even if you wanted to run pure soldier gear you can use skills like balanced stance and traits in teh warrior itself to make you immune to critical strikes meaning enemies have wasted stats and are essensially running soldier gear without the defense against you.
you can also use sigil of energy on weapons for an extra free dodge!
Dodge roll for more healing and might!
Defence 2-2-2 Str 1-2-2 SB 3-2-3 axe axe // gs.. SiO/stomp/ sig of fury/ sig of rage, pick a heal and its more tankie does more heals more removes more stabs and more DPS then your build enjoy
I've heard people suggest SB over core for a build like this!

@@CaffeinatedDad Down side with core it loses stabs clears, the roll on SB is about 4-5k with just rolling around stuff with dragon armor
When you said might generation, I thought you where referencing limp bizkit lol. warrior is the only class I hadn't tried before today thx for this build! I think I will go with dual axes though cause that's what I've been enjoying so far 😁

Thanks for the idea! I might try it. So far I've been using (up to level 55) Def (MML)+Disc (MUL). Skills: Mending, Bulls's Charge, Banner of Defense, Banner of Tactics. Why do I use banners? To make use of the 2nd tier of Disc. (I don't need Brawler's Recovery, because I have Cleansing Ire) and to generate combo fields (sad, but the warriors have very few ways of field generation). Why Def?? Cleansing Ire! It makes you swim in Adrenaline, and Disco allows to use it often thanks to Fast Hands.
That's actually a pretty unique build! Banners unfortunately are not as popular anymore

After the patch tomorrow, there is potentially going to be a busted bunker weaver build in pvp. It probably won't be that great in PvE as it won't have much damage, but it's going to be super survivable.
what there is nothing about the weaver that gets buffed
@@Victorgreat4 it's not weaver specifically getting a buff, but they are changing a core trait (obsidian flesh) that has the potential to be heavily abused by weaver moreso than tempest or catalyst. Now that the patch is out, we can see that they thought ahead and made the duration of obsidian flesh when leaving earth attunement pretty miniscule so that weaver cannot abuse the heck out of it. If the duration had been higher, weaver could have easily had 80-100% uptime of not being able to be critically hit. Thankfully with the current durations, weaver cannot abuse it to any crazy extent.
It seems like the Bunker weaver is already becoming a thing!
Warriors needed self healing ever since they nerfed the regen spec. This talent combination opens up a lot of options to stay alive. Great spec!

i tried your build, great build btw. I think shield is kinda an overkill, you prolly gonna get to that conclusion once you put more time in this build. I also think signet of fury and signet of rage have more value when you dont use them, signet of rage specially if you dont you use it you gonna be able to f1 every weapon swap, I think peak performance and brave stride are better options. I also think vigorous shout is a better option, then you replace signet of might with for great justice or shake it off.
The shield I use mainly for stalling for cds really if I'm pressed. Whilst the damage from say offhand axe is crazy I like having the on demand block!
In that build, you should change to two axes. Now that is a *lot* of damage and action. Also, change to Arms in Specialisation. DPS high as fuck.
How does the sustain go? Might generation pretty high?
@@CaffeinatedDad I would say that I made a decent DPS with that build. Especially with two axes - up to 25k in this whirlwind wu-tang shiet attack. I would say that your build hold bons much better than mine. I could change for For the Great Justice instead of Shake it Off since that skill is basically panic button, but over these two builds are very relative to each other. Almost twins.
I suggest you try another sigils in my case i use two sigils when i play sword Weaver i definitively noticed that energy sigil works well for this kind of builds based on sustain, since both warrior and Weaver take advantage for their traits that improve their roll/evade, also sigil of cleansing can work well against heavy conditions, both sigils work well since warrior swap weapons constantly, lastly sigil of strength literally makes you heal every time you attack an enemy because you win might with every strike
Again this is to give more focus for sustain, if it sacrifices some damge I'm not sure at all but someone can try it
I did see a suggestion of Sigil of Energy. Especially with the discipline line and being able to weapon swap so often it could be amazing!
I have a build similar to this, but for spell breaker. It offers way more heal thanks to the crits and the daggers auto, alon with moon trait.

If it was me I would change the heal skill to defiance stance for more sustainability but that's just me but once am a level 80 warrior I'll give this build a go
I think that skill is great for burst damage but sustained damage I don't think it's that great!
I accidentally make a similar to this when I unlocked spellbreaker. Soo fun! I used cele gear.
There's a few variations but spellbreaker seems to be the one most people tune into!

Of course you can die but I found with the right upkeep it works great!

You mean run double greatsword? I think you'd loose in overall dps because the weapon cds are shared

Personally you can make double axe work, I like the shield for stalling and defensive properties but of course you can change it for success!
I like this build which is great since it’s a build Ali can use since I don’t have any expansion, and I thought to have a good build you have to purchase the expansion to get skills from elite skillls

am a new player here, what did you put into your upgrade slots for the weapons and the armor ? and what relic would you choose ?
Might caps at 25 stacks. With all your sources from skills and traits, do you really need it on both axe and shield? Have you tried it with different sigils?
You probably could swap out Sigil of might for something else, but the main point of the might generation is for the sustain. Getting a ton of healing from the might stacks help tremendously!
for monsters with lots of cc you can bring balance stance as your stun break for abit of stability
Someone suggested brave stride for movements giving stability stacks. Although it looses some might generation

Probably spellbreaker as they have quite a bit of sustain
could you do more CORE build videos ? i know that elite specs rule them all but for people leveling, not having expansions or jsut dont want to run elite spec it would be avesome since everytime i search any build i only find elite specs

I don't know what I did wrong but I just started PoF and I'm dying like crazy. This build can't handle burning damage.
Well I've been focusing on creating guides for core players specifically. If conditions are trouble I suggest swapping a signet out for shake it off. Fairly short CD but excellent condi cleanse
@@CaffeinatedDad I think I figured it out. Your build relies on melee damage to heal because the mobs I'm dying to primarily use ranged damage.
Hmm. is it just me or does your warrior seem like it has way more impact on the hits? Like the camera shakes. Is that an option or a mod?
There a camera shake option that I like to keep on!
This build didn't really work for me. I become more squishy and less damaging. Core condi bow is more survivable, because it ain't melee all the time. Change tactics to defense?
what stats should i look for on my gear while levelling?
Really any stat is good for now. Try to lean more towards power precision and ferocity though as most warrior weapons deal strike damage

This is done after Soto released. Honestly you could probably do relic of the daredevil and have great affect

It is the primeval helmet. You can get it either from purchasing one of the original copies of the game (which isn't possible anymore) or get it from the gemstore

im not gerttin healed on rolls....what am i doing wrong here.
Sure I am doing something wrong, I've seen several builds like this, but no matter what I do the only heal I get is from my dedicated skill. The trait line heals never seem to activate. Now I'm not great with the Great Sword, but I can hit f1, Bang stacks up Might, and nothing no healing at all. If anyone has had this problem and knows a solution, would appreciate it/

@@nickmerke swapping weapons as often as possible helps a little, but I'm still not getting out of the build as much healing as I should. That and Omniberry Pies, for heal on Crit.

For sure! Some suggestions have been to swap out the shield for double axe for extra effect!

Just a comment - you're making a lot of claims, and I'm not saying they're false, but you dont provide any evidence in the video of your claims aside from dodging around and fighting mobs. Back up your claims with evidence of performance and it'll make for a better video. 2c.
True, I could put actual performance footage in the problem is that it would only appeal to the minority and overall would hurt my watch time on youtube. If you can catch the stream tonight I'd be happy to show it off!
