It's not better, but it's certainly the best in the truck racing niche.. in fact, I know no other developer that offers a proper truck racing sim. I hope they made enough money with this one, so they can evolve it and use a modern gfx engine next time. This is based on a very aging old platform, so it's definitely time for an upgrade.

Hi, I got a technical question: I'm going to start playing Project Cars when it is released and want to do this with a G27 Wheel. Sometimes, when I watch some Simulator Videos on TH-cam, I observe that there is a small delay from a Steering Wheel to the Game of maybe quater a second or a bit less. Is there any trick how I can avoid that in my future application? That delay could be a big disadvantage when the car gets in a inadverted drift you must know for sure!
I've been driving simulators for 7 years(G25 wheel) and never actually noticed the delay, except on the visual side. Most of the games and logitech gaming software let you adjust the wheel setup just the way you want it.
There is always a delay. It's not necessarily noticeable, but is based sometimes on the FPS you're getting in the game. Other games, like iRacing, have a default refresh rate for detecting it, but obviously having a high FPS will help alleviate that "delay" feeling.
MrLithiumFox All right. So normaly P/C should be able to provide a high FPS rate I think. My Hardware is almost new so it should work. Thanks a lot! Will try to keep it high if I have probs then. Another thing is what I heard, that "vertical synchronization" should be switched off. It keeps FPS rate down. Looking forward to driving it!

I personally prefer setting an FPS limit instead of a vsync, but sometimes if your frame rate is running higher than your refresh rate it CAN help prevent tearing, which is noisy and distracting. The other thing to recognize is that each game has their own limitation, as well as the limitation built into windows for usb polling. Lastly, having higher end wheels also tends to help. My biggest thing is: If i'm using a wheel, I turn off the in-game hands and wheel, and setup the FOV to what's called a "Proper FOV". Games like iRacing sometimes have a built in tool for this. It seems REALLY strange driving so close that you can't see the mirrors but.. trust me when I say that you really do drive better. This is why a lot of people use 3 screens/Oculus rift. :)
The reason I turn off the wheel and hand is that there will ALWAYS be a delay between when you turn in real life and when the wheel and hands turn in front of you. Plus you can see the gauges better :D
please tell me what kind of simulators are this fellows using, cause is not the g 27 or g25 ..and if they're using gaming console's or good old fashion pc's..?

good driving, although a bit passive. you don't have to go to lower gear all the time, it has enough torque to pull with almost any gear
