Even the Nintendo World costumes don't compare to the DIGITAL meet & greets they've done in the past decade or so - the conversations recorded from those have been astounding!
Between 2010 and 2020, things were big with Nintendo World, from what I remember. So events (and even events today) were really big things. For special occasions or just specific days, in Nintendo World New York, Mario or other characters would come out and you can do a meet and greet with them. I never was able to do so, but I remember being at Nintendo World for Mario's 25 anniversary. I still have my sack bag and my Mario moustache they gave everyone before they cut the cake and had Miyamoto come out to greet everyone.
