    Thanks Francis. Your tutorial was just what I needed. I've seen loads of reviews where people tell you what specs each camera has, but they don't tell you how best to use them. I recently bought an X-T30 and I'm pretty much up to speed on the photography side of things, now I feel a lot more confident in using the camera for video.

    Thank you Francis your videos are very clear and helpful i am new to fuji xt4 so happy of the image quality its amazing and i know the potential of the camera so far i know 20%.
    More of your videos help me learn more.
    Just a small questions how can i lock my focus on a moving subject or still one ? watch ton of video no one say anything about it.
    It will be helpful if u can help

    • @fujiguys
      @fujiguys  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for the kind words!
      if you want to track a moving subject, set the camera to AF-C and keep it withing the AF box.
      if you are shooting something that is still I would suggest setting the AF mode to AF-S.
      For people enable Face/Eye detection with the left or right eye for the best result.
      Hope that helps !
      Thank you for the comment !

    Grea starter video about video. A little frustrating because I have an X-T3 and several of your settings didn't't correspond to the X-T3 but it was a great start. The more I learn about the Fuji camera the more I realize the Menu system needs a major overhaul. (Touch screen doesn't work in menu mode/video setting are not all in the video menu tab, etc.) Great cameras but other brands have much better menu interface. That's my little beef.

    Really useful helped me get a basic understanding of operation. One observation if you could just go a little more slowly when switching through the various menu settings, would have saved me a lot of time going backwards and forwards. But really excellent. What's the point of having a choice of Zebras left and right, but still only having a single percentage value? On my Canon, I can set different levels for the 2 Zebras so I can set one to indicate clipping and the other for flesh tone. It would be good if Fuji did the same.

    I have one question though.. With more recent Fuji cameras (X-S10 in mind), does the focus peaking is still On, WHILE filming? On my X-T10, it disappears as soon as I hiy the Rec button, I quite miss it to check focus while the video is recording, if my framing changes etc...

I don't get it???

    Hello Francis :) I wonder if you might know, how to turn on the option (in AF-S mode) to give you a green square (focus point - area focus) when it is focused during recording video on XT4? Before the recording is it works (in photo mode and video mode), but not during recording, the focus square goes green when something is sharp, but this does not happen during recording (it focuses, but does not give a green sign that it is focused) In the XT3 it is in the default settings, both video recording and photography. To put it briefly: how to turn option that Focus is confirmed with green box during recording video on XT4? Thank you in advance and and sorry for the long comment :)

      Long Group Of Frames is a compression where only the pixels that change are re-written. So if you set a static shot on a tripod, and only have a person talking, it is great, for action scenes or shaken footage it is not so efficient.
      But it has nothing to do with the BITRATE

  • @nerwin

    I don't understand what I'm doing wrong haha. I see others use 23.98p and usually around 1/48th or 1/60th and their talking head videos are smooth. But when I use those settings, its really choppy and slow. I set it to 59.94p at 1/60th and nice and smooth, looks natural to me. But with the 23.98p, the entire video even if its just stationary footage, it looks like its skipping and its headache inducing. Any help would be much appreciated it!! Thank you!

    I've been using sony and Fuji. I'll make it short and get straight to the question. There is this Exposer mode shooting in Sony Cameras. What I know of it is, the camera records videos in aperture priority mode. Is there anything like that that can happen in Fuji xt200?

    Thanks for the video! My X-S10 has a slightly different menu, but I could still figure out the settings. However, one question that remained unanswered is using the filming button while in custom recipe mode. So, I have my custom recipe that I like, saved under C1 (let's say) and if I start filming while in this mode, the camera will record everything under these settings. Fine. But how do I change the video recording for C1? I have autofocus activated which makes the AF crazy, I have eye detection activated whichis making troubles as well. These are turned off in the video mode though. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

      Hi, I used to have an X-T10 and there were not many settings I could actually change. The dedicated button started recording in whichever recipe I had and AF was constantly on, driving me crazy and destroying my videos. I tried to get an answer to changing settings, but didn't get much help, so I am curious if anyone can advise here. The X-T4 I have now is very different and I'm much happier with it, although I'm still figuring out how to make good videos with it :c)
      Thank you, Francis, for this quick video guide.

    I use 170mb/s Sandisk SD Card, I record 200mbs video on it, does this matter, as it does not give me any errors?

    if the motion blur is the same when we double the shutter speed, then why does it matter if we choose 24 fps, instead of 60 fps. if i can shoot 60fps-1/120sec shutter and get the same motion blur with 24fps-1/48sec shutter, then how come 24 fps is still "more cinematic". won't they be exactly the same, except 60fps-1/120sec will give you more data while editing before rendering?

      Having less frames creates a bigger gap between each frames captured so less ''fluid'', that plus slow shutter speed creates the blur and ''Look''. 60fps captures every tiny movements and super fluid and faster shutter speed makes the image sharper.
      Hope that helps.

    Sx10 can only shoot 4k 30fps? Any update to have it 60fps?

      Yes it can do 4K up to 30 fps. We don't don't about an update for 4K 60fps.

    Can X-S10 take videos well? What lens is best way to take DIY videos?🤣

      @fujiguys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it can !
      All lenses can be used but if you bought it as a kit with a 16-80mm you got a great piece of kit to start making some videos !
      Thank you for the comment Jason!
