Well, it looks kinda useless now ( ͠° ͟ʖ ͡°) Unless your team is chasing someone down and you pull him back to your team, I don't see much of a practical use for it.
+Ebon Hawk most of them are fine, the only one that makes no sense is the auto attack at 1:30 he just poses with a hand up... hardly a martial art technic
+Ebon Hawk yea dude, auto attacks and dash look poorly animated and lacking in fluidity and style compared to SC2 units. wish they'd refine it. for a counter intuitive skill like a boomerang dash, it would help a lot to add more flavor and flare to its execution, not just a physically impossible backstep. it looks and feels clunky and weird. also his aoe ulti looks like a budget version of tassadars psi storm. just had this thought, since his backwards lunge does more damage the animation would make more sense if it appears as tho he abruptly interrupts his dash by planting his foot in the ground at the farthest point, turning around and dashing back to his starting location with his psi blades raised accompanied by a brighter more explosive blue flare. it should look more warrior-like compared to this ballet dance step. ending the skill with him facing away from the fight shouldnt really be an issue as its just overall more badass
+Savix I did too but I think Fenix is coming, it would be weird if they omitted him from the SC lineup. He's probably just gonna be a Ranged Assassin, maybe even another Ranged Warrior which would be super neat. Honestly, though, I'd love to see him be like Tassadar and having his Dragoon form be an Alt form. Either way, *pours one out for Fenix this go around*

I played him for a couple matches before work tonight, and he's a lot of fun! A very welcome addition to my warrior daily options, and I'll be working toward that badass master skin ASAP. My goal is to have it before his full release, so I can look down on all the Artanis noobies ;D
When I saw that he became active for me today after I prepurchased LotV a while ago, this made me get back into the game (mostly burned myself out on Alpha and Beta, so this seemed like a good excuse to come back and see the new stuff). Surprisingly great fun. Im generally more of a supportive player, I'm terrible at DPS and prefer healing stuff. Tanks im iffy depending who it is, but Artanis is pretty easy to get used to. Enjoyed the way he can just insert himself into almost any situation to be the game changer. His DPS isn't too high or too low, but his versatility can turn things around easy. Now... if we can get Fenix into the Nexus with him, we'd be in business.
I love that this video only only shows clips of enemies standing toe to toe with Artanis, when in reality all you'll ever do is just get kited back for the rest of your life.
I think even though this hero is awesome, his animations lack a major piece of OOMPH behind them. The stronger backdash has less force presentation wise behind it then Valla's Dodge Roll. But other than that, I will love to play him!

after playing a good number of matches with Artanis, i have to say that he's definatly a Top tier Hero.. his Blade Dash is a nice wave clearer, it also can be used to kill retreating hero's especially with the 150% damage buff.. He Pairs well with hero's like Zeratul, Uther, etc, So far my impression of him is that he's able to Pick off enemies pretty quick, but really bad at having outs when being surrounded.. and heavily relies on his teammates for certain situtations
Definitely. Or give the ability 2 charges with each dealing 25% more damage than the initial charge already is. The idea was interesting but really doesn't seem to work, just feels wonky to me.
+Jacob Taylor A charge is a good idea as well: I'm thinking Q to dash forward, then maybe a window of a second or two to press again to dash back to your original position. It would allow for executions with an escape, or to catch up and pursue enemies.

Call me old-fashioned, but I really loved it when Artanis was piloting a jet in just a loincloth. Then again, if not him, who would get to be the "Zealot hero?" Selendis? Fenix? Blizzard *PROBABLY* has something bigger planned for Fenix utilizing his history as both a Zealot and a Dragoon. Maybe. Hopefully.
After playing him does anyone else hate that none of his abilities synergize? If you Q he performs one auto attack and then comes back, but for some reason you can't prime your W before hand to get the attacks onto your target, it just remains primed when you return to your starting location. You also can't Q to get near your target and then use your E to swap places with them, hence his chase is terrible. Each ability is nifty on their own but they don't work together at all. His ults also just kinda seem underwhelming. Purifier beam can be attack moved around so that the target takes barely any damage and the blind while nice isn't really worth rolling Artanis for when you consider Johanna has a blind of her own on a much lower cool down, granted it's not as big of an area, but when do you need to blind the WHOLE enemy team? It's usually just 1 or 2 heroes that you really want to get with the blind anyway. Yes, it's global, but why aren't you with your team?

This guys shield and that suppression pulse might be what he needs to beat him. Though Illi has sustain too, and a good illidan might be able to suppression with dodge with meta. Purifier would probably force a disengage entirely.
Nait33 I'm assuming the Illidan would be using the regular illidan build. The heroic wouldn't matter too much although Meta would probably work the best. Either way once Artanis comes out I'll be que'ing with Illidan to try it out.
***** Idk bout that, the distance you gain with leap when you're in melee range already isn't very far, it could be used to avoid a possibly fair amount of damage, but then you've got all of Arta's other abilities. He might even be able to phase prism you back in. We'll have to see when it comes out.
I think the next Starcraft Hero should be Dehaka. You could have some real fun with his obsession with collecting essence and evolving. Perhaps his heroic abilities could be two different evolutions that serve different purposes. One for damage and one for tankiness. I figured that would work because one of his best lines is "I do not need a wall, I will evolve armor. I do not need a weapon, I will evolve claws."

you really need to do something about these hero vids... so its cool and all to see the hero spotlight hero use spells to kill stuff, but in what kind of senario will the enemy ever just stand and auto attack instead of using there own spells?

His blade dash (Q) can be really hard to pull off since you can be rooted/stunned in both in and out, plus its easy to avoid the back way (just side-step) His E's projectile speed is laughably slow, you need to use it point-blank to even hit somebody relyably :/ Actually both his Q and E are slow to execute. And for a warrior with no escape mechanic, he is really vulnerable to burst dmg. The shield (his trait) wont really count for much if a Valla/Jaina figures you should go respawn now x) Its only good in non-burst hero fights.
On a side note, after playing him. Will artanis get a "immune to cc while dashing" talent? It's a rather easy ability to dodge and super easy to punish for doing it. Unless your building full tank (via talents), it's mostly suicide to try and harass with it. Also his cc is extremely slow and unless used after another hard cc or from a brush? It seems underpowered.
RIP Illidan. He's a counter to illidan in team fights. Imagine sylvanas and artanis on the enemy team while you're playing as Illidan. You get shut down completely.
Fiiiinally, a starcraft warrior...now got all roles for each game (poor vikings, lol). Not sure about that double attack tho...sure it helps with his trait, but seems really weak considering Arthas has a rough equivalent as his trait...that restores mana.

+PyroANTIC I like that as well. There's a lot they can do to alter it, the functionality of being FORCED to return just doesn't feel right at all.

Isn't Artanis supose to have a Green blade and a Blue blade? Just like Legacy of the Void?
Fiiiinally, a starcraft warrior...now got all roles for each game (poor vikings, lol). Not sure about that double attack tho...sure it helps with his trait, but seems really weak considering Arthas has a rough equivalent as his trait...that restores mana.
