Honestly one of my favourite styles of basing, and perfect for things like Hero Quest! Did not even think the texture was painted on first time I saw this style, so good!
Just tried it the first time. Did not get the same results you did, mostly because I was not patient enough and did not follow you step by step ;-) But I will rewatch your tutorial some more and do more bases like that in the future! 😀
With drybrushing? Heck yeah, it would work just fine and really fast. And if you don't like the dusty appearance of drybrush, worry not because the last glaze will make it go away! Even without drybrush, it would work just fine! Printed tiles work just the same.
Another technique, especially with modern bases without the slot is to print off some of the floor tiles from WQ etc and glue them directly to the base, then glue the model on top.
Uh oh, not something I want to happen to my viewers! Thanks for letting me know, I will take that into account for the next one. My voice is not made for audiobooks or radio, that is for sure!

If you don't want to damage the minis for whatever reason, or you just don't feel like basing, this is the thing :)
Thanks, Alex!
Wow, excellent tutorials ! Thank you Mr. Miguel !
Most welcome, Mr David 😀
great vid and tutorial. well done Miguel!
Thanks a lot! Glad you liked it!
Three great looking styles 👍
Thanks, Henry! Glad you liked them!
This video is extra useful!
Glad it helps!
Great video, your production is always on point.
Trying to get as good as you are filming!
@@rushthewash Ha, i think the same about you..
Thank you so much for this video! Awesome work as always.
You're most welcome! :)
I'll have a go at this next week, lovely work. ;)
Looking forward to seeing some photos being shared in one of those Heroquest groups!
@@rushthewash It shall be so Miguel.
They look amazingly good!
Glad you like them! They do fit well in the games.
This is some fine looking bases mate!
Thanks, Patrik! Anyone can do them, so just "pro-looking" maybe, not "pro-level"! 😀
Sweet bases, and amazing video. The close ups look great!
Thanks, Karl! Trying to get closer to the brush, need to show where the paint goes!!
Wonderful technique! The finished effect reminds me of classic fantasy art. Thank you for sharing!
That was the intention, as the game tiles were hand painted too! 🎨
Those look great Miguel!
Thanks, Joseph! Is the video too dark for you or can you see the details better because of the contrast?

And try other color combos too! You will get your own style with new shapes and colors, and will refine it to be truly yours!
Another amazing video. Congrats and thank you for the painting tips (loved the advanced heroquest reference)
Classics will always have their place here!
This is awesome. I already made 3d stone for my Cursed City bases but I'm thinking your painting approach will still work just fine. Thanks!

where are your goblins from, please?
Heroquest. The newest version of it.
Very nice
Thanks, Peter 😀
Your bases look like the painted cardboards from the 80s, you should be hired as painter for cardboardtiles

3d print or paper?
Paper would work. I'm all for quick wins when there are 80+ minis to get painted!

Tu si que eres un crack!
Jajaja!
Yikes, this is a cool video but it’s so dark in it that it just counts as an audiobook to me
