  • Hi everyone! Today's video is a big one. It is time to update my favorite completed fantasy series list. @@RichardNellAuthor this is my first year trying it out, and it's helping me so far. Who knows if I'll stick to it. I'm trying to tackle a number of big series (malazan, osten ard, banished lands, dresden, realm of the elderlings, suneater) and breaking them all into month by month seemed like it prove helpful.
      So far, I've read 15 books, or at least finished the ones I was partway thru (which I'm totally counting to my year end goal of 100 books)
      I've already read ahead in other series and not started others. Having a vague outline seems like it is helpful for me. I know others meticulously plan their reading out, but that's not me.

    Thank you for another great video, Petrik! Aren't we living in such a wonderful time, where you can't decide between 6 different fantasy series to be your Number 1 choice? Fantasy writing has evolved so much and is so much more accessible to people now. I like that you've nominated different types of series in your list. From Grimdark to Urban to Epic - love it!

    Cheater! Just kidding lol Realm of the Elderlings is #1 for me so I agree with that one! I'm reading The Empire Trilogy starting in July and hoping to read the Green bone Saga at the end of the year. Thanks for the list!

      Almost made the list again. If it's a top 20 list, it would be in my number 16 spot! :)

    The thing you said about Riyria is interesting. I'm thinking of starting that series and cosidering how you felt would you say it might not be a bad idea to start with chronicles and read it in chronological order? Or would you say publication order is better?

    • @PetrikLeo
      @PetrikLeo  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      My recommendation is to try publication order first, but if Theft of Swords disappointed you so much and you feel like you can't stand it, try Riyria Chronicles. It's more well-written compared to Revelations. :)

    Dang mistborne. After watching your videos of the special editions of mistborne era 2 ive been thinking on saving to buy them. But im not sure if its worth the story. I do love steampunk. Can you do me favor, ive already lookt up the story and i have questions for the final book: thuse his wife come back from the dead and thuse thuse wax emends his ways with god and thuse not hate him anymore? I belive in yaweh(god) so im curious about this aspect before i buy.

      Wax amends his way with god in his own way in the final book. Have to be vague here in case someone who hasn't read Mistborn saw this comment. :)
