Difficult to believe sometimes, Carlos is the son of Philip the Fair... and Carlos is a 100.00 times the husband and father his own dad never was. Even if just narrowing it down to the series, my God. Philip's actor played so well, ngl, I have nightmares about it. And then comes along these portrayals. In real life though, Carlos was also such a faithful devoted husband, even though he had to be far away for so long. He had the sense ro abdicate when his time came, provided for bastard daughter well (making him the supreme gentleman above Henry VIII), and his children were with their mother Isabella as long as she was alive. Meanwhile,Joanna was deprived of her kid's company, Philip seemed to have a hissyfit when their first daughter was born (read somewhere, dont know if true), her husbands company was limited too and she had managers of her household who pennypinched her. Financial abuse. It seemed she just had to shut up in her chambers waiting if Philip came along. No wonder she cried a lot. What a relief Carlos and Ferdinand were a thousand times the men their father never was. You can always choose better. I detest Philip. Love Carlos.

In one article I read that she also had a daughter who bore her name; she died as a baby or was stillborn.

BECAUSE historical people's names are always translated to the language of the text.
Look at this particular tv series. They say every person's name in the Spanish form. They call the French king Francois Francisco, they call the Flemish-born Karl V Carlos, they call Henry VIII Enrique. They call the German Martin Luther Martin Lutero. Because they speak in Spanish, they say the Spanish name version. So, when I translate it to English, I have to call them by their English name version. That's why 😊
