You've NEVER led me wrong James, so I'm with you! When I go to PDC, I'll be going to Hilton all the way because the beach alone is always the deal maker or breaker for me! The Wyndham beach is ATROCIOUS, and I've stayed at the Hilton when it was the ROYAL so I know what to expect at THAT beach. As far the nightlife goes, you were right, there's no NEED for it cause 5th Ave is right there, so I'll be more comfortable at Hilton and then party right down the street....BAM!!
I adore your all inclusive resort content. You’re killing it!!! I also have a small TH-cam resort channel. I mentioned your channel in a video I have coming out in a few weeks.
Hey James! Love your videos. Watch every one of them. You missed a pool and restaurant at Hilton PDC. There is a “quiet pool” next to the Mediterranean restaurant Kalamata. Thanks for highlighting our favorite all inclusive - Hilton PDC.
Totally agree with this review. Stayed when it was the royal. It’s was great watching this because I really feel you nailed all the points I was thinking when I stayed 🎉
My husband and I have been binging your videos, thanks for all of your reviews. We are curious about your thoughts on Xcaret hotels. We've been thinking of going this year, but the price is pretty high. Do you have any opinion on the Hotel Xcaret Arte or Hotel Xacret Mexico? Thanks!
Never been to either one but the beach would be the deal breaker for me at Wyndham. Although the tub in the bedroom area at Hilton still weirds me out a little . Great video as always. Thanks James!
Are you heading outside of PDC? Puerto Morelos is a great area and home to my personal favourite (of the resorts I have visited in Mexico), Excellence Riviera Cancun
They used to be sister hotels and their former names were The Royal PDC (Hilton PDC) and The Gran Porto (Wyndham Alltra). When you booked with The Royal before you have access to all the restaurant and facilities of all the sister hotels in both Playa & Cancun. I guess not anymore, also The Royal Cancun is now named Hyatt Zilara.
I love the Hilton Los Cabos but they’ve more than doubled their price and aren’t all inclusive. It’s nice and quiet there which is what we prefer. It seems that the Hilton playa is more of a party atmosphere correct?
I am really struggling right now! I have 9 days booked at Wyndham, and it's now $2000 more to move to the same category of room at the Hilton. Is it worth that much more?
I have a ideas for a video James. Conrad Fort Lauderdale vs Hilton Fort Lauderdale beach resort they are both next to each other and ranked as good hotels
James... Doug Ozolins. Still keeping track of you. Do me a favor. Do some videos on strictly Hilton properties around the world. I have tons of points and need to decide where to spend points. It would be cool to have some lists that are for point holders. Keep up the good work
James ! Are there ever hidden costs at all inclusives that we may not anticipate? For instance, is all alcohol free? I rate your content a 6+! All the best to you.
appreciate the time and effort put in your videos!! have you considered a TikTok account? you could post shorter and more casual videos. You would reach a wide range of people. Just an idea:) safe travels!
Gotta kind of disagree with you. Im a travel agent and i usually agree with but..... i dont think either of these are luxury AND Hilton has a LOT of rules from not being able to drink alcohol before 11 🤷♀️. I do agree with Hilton being better. Hilton's food is really good and rooms are great. You are an awesome evaluator
Hilton Playa del Carmen. Review of the Resort: A "Memorable" Disappointment Well, well, where do I begin with my stay at this resort? Let's call it an "experience" - one I'm eager to forget. From the moment you step foot into what claims to be a luxurious haven, you're swiftly transported to what feels more like a cattle farm. Ah yes, the ever-charming wristband - your badge of dishonor. So, if you fancy being an easily identifiable mark for every vendor, potential miscreant, and overly enthusiastic local in Playa del Carmen, this place has you covered! Inside the resort? No escape. It's like being in a relentless sales pitch, but here, the ever-enthusiastic resort staff are the hawkers. Want to relax? Think again. They're always on standby to try and upsell you something. Upgrades, excursions, spa treatments, premium dinners - they're always on the hunt, and you're the prey. Ah, the serenity! But where things truly take a dangerous turn? The so-called "security". For an establishment boasting its exclusivity, the behavior of some guests seemed more fitting for a backstreet bar brawl than a high-end retreat. The open bar? It's more like a ticking time bomb, drawing in unruly twenty and thirty-somethings. With their increasingly aggressive antics and sheer disregard for others' safety, you'd think the resort was auditioning for a reality show on brawls. The "security" team? Oh, they were there, but their indifference and inaction were alarmingly evident. It felt less like a retreat and more like a hazardous obstacle course, where every day brought a new set of challenges to one's personal safety. "Smoke-free", they claimed. Yet the reality was an all-pervasive haze of secondhand smoke, and despite countless complaints, the smoky saga continued unhindered. And don't get me started on the so-called all-inclusive deal. Overpriced restaurants and room service that felt more like a drag than a luxury. At 700-800 euros per night, the returns were pitifully inadequate. Mediocre drinks, a "piña colada" more reminiscent of murky puddle water, and dated rooms that screamed of neglect. My first night? A cacophonous symphony thanks to the ancient air conditioner, forcing an urgent room switch. For a resort that parades itself as 5-star, a hesitant three would be a stretch. The raving reviews and promotional videos? One can't help but question their authenticity and how many palms were greased for those glowing endorsements. In short, if you're seeking luxury and relaxation, this resort is a masterclass in how not to deliver either. Steer clear.
Let's forget about the hotels for a moment....I give your vlogs a 10! Informative and entertaining! Great job as usual!

Yes! I was going to mention the "quiet pool" as well. It was a nice break when needed and having the bar right there was perfect!
Totally agree with this review. Stayed when it was the royal. It’s was great watching this because I really feel you nailed all the points I was thinking when I stayed 🎉
Awesome review!!!Great in details🎉
When will you be going back to Vegas? Great content as usual!
Great job! This helped us decide for our family of 6 adults. Very thorough comparison. Thank you! 😎🏝️

Q: what do you think is the best time to visit?
Thanks, I'm going to the wyndham in May!
Are you heading outside of PDC? Puerto Morelos is a great area and home to my personal favourite (of the resorts I have visited in Mexico), Excellence Riviera Cancun
So do you think is worth choosing all inclusive since is so close to downtown??
When did you film this ? did you get sargassum?

I loved it when it was the Royal ❤️💔
Yes The owner died and his kids sold the properties to Hyatt and Hilton
I love the Hilton Los Cabos but they’ve more than doubled their price and aren’t all inclusive. It’s nice and quiet there which is what we prefer. It seems that the Hilton playa is more of a party atmosphere correct?
have you been to the fives in playa del carmen ???? that place is pretty cool

Is Playacar Palace not within your ranking?
Internet popularity rankings... Playacar Palace was not in the top 6
Reclaiming the beach: they say 4 months but it looks like 4 years 😆😆. I laughed out loud for reals.
Next to Wyndham Alltra is Hyatt Zilara not Hilton Los Cabos and they are 58 mins drive to 5th Ave.
Reef28 in Playa del Carmen was surpisingly good for us. Check it out
I’m definitely jealous of your stomach capacity 😅😂
