Hi, I am hooked on your videos! I'm 70 years young, not a doctor or in the medical field but I've always found the workings of the human body amazing. All those systems working simultaneously and thankfully automatically. Imagine if we had to think about doing all those things. I dare say we'd last about 10 seconds, lol. I was a medic in Vietnam in 68 and now when I look back, I truly missed my calling. When I returned home I should have looked into some aspect of medicine, oh well. I just wanted to thank you for the effort and wonderful energy you display in your videos. You affect more lives than you can imagine!

Look at that, 70 years and learning Med, very encouraging for an Engineer getting to know about med.

Btw, those who are wondering what *ATP* is "its adenosine tri-phosphate. ATP transfers chemical energy from the energy rich substances in the cell to the cell's energy requiring reactions."

I love your videos. I tend to be more of a reading/writing learner. But your videos help me connect this both strategies and use it to obtain new material. Your drawings are also such a big help!!!

Hello, would it be safe to say that this thyroid gland releases two different hormones? one is t3 which is for metabolism and t4 for metabolism and temperature.

Best test for thyroid is your basal body temperature in the morning. If it is lower than 36.6 than you have low thyroid function.

Testing the TSH only will not diagnose a thyroid disorder.

This diagnosis system makes no sense: if you have low TSH presumably body is trying to correct too high T4. First of all, it may have succeeded correcting it at that low TSH value so you do not have hyperthyroidism. Secondly I can argue the same for high TSH obviously must be hyperthyroid because high TSH will produce high T4. Thirdly the low TSH may be a temporary rebalancing to some changes like estrogen spike, drugs, large iodine intake etc.
You really have to prove to me anything is wrong with the thyroid first and it isn't just working according to specs and input parameters
