      Chain of Command exists for a reason. Any infraction is documented & given to the Sargeant, who gives it to the Shift Commander. The unit manager gets an update, as does the case manager. Everything is documented because inmates love to sue. They are VERY litigious. Kites either get picked up by the floor officer OR they go into a box and go to the mailroom & mailroom delivers to the appropriate person. If it's really bad, they give it directly to the Sargeant assigned to the wing/area of the jail. Either way, there's a paper trail. If all these infractions are real, the incidents are in a log book & in the incident report. Every time a code is called, or shift change occurs, ITS LOGGED IN EVERY LOG BOOK in the facility. Subpeona the log books.

    So as someone that did 7 years in prison. Fought my case for 8 months in the county. During my 7 years there was a federal law passed about inhuman punishments from putting people in the hole for extended periods of time. When I first got to prison there was no limit on hole shots or SEG. Then it changed to a max of 14 days straight of 23/1 after 14 days it has to go to 20-4 an can get one visit a month and one call a month. Up to the 30th day. After 30 days it drops even further to 17/8 an more privileges are giving to you. And after 30 days the prison has to get written consent from the prison headquarters for the state. Phone privileges are a max of 6 months commissary 6 months max and visits 6 month max there is a 6 month max on all sanctions . For the stuff they are doing in a county jail where you already have LESS movement and privileges to begin with then a prison institution is absolutely inhuman and disgusting. However this kinda stuff happens ALOT! And unfortunately most of it goes unknown. And the reason that is because most ppl going through it don’t have an attorney that will fight for them. Because they are public defenders or afraid to go against the system for a bunch of different reasons. 6 years in a county and 3 years with no privileges is disturbing. There is absolutely no way his mental health is good or even decent right now. He is deff the longest person in that county jail I’ll guarantee it. And if you look up other people that did similar things melly has done with the infractions I’ll be they didn’t get anything close to the amount of sanctions he got and how long he’s had them. If you look at their handbook there own maxs are 30 days for any infraction which is very clear what they are doing is ONLY for him. They absolutely made up these rules and punishments. And it’s disturbing. I’m in ohio and did my prison time in ohio. I’m sure other states have a different way their prison system does their R.I.B. Sanctions and everything. But this is wild what they are doing to melly.

  • @ldegraaf
    @ldegraaf 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +21

    100 infractions is super easy if guards don't like you. For example, women are allowed to have pads, however if you turn them into slippers then you have altered them and now each slipper is a charge of contraband just like a cellphone or drugs. You may be allowed to have 3 instant coffee packets and you thought that you would drink them in the week so you ordered more, but on the day the orders are delivered you haven't finished all of them now every coffee over the 3 that are allowed are contraband and can be charged as separate charges.
    In some jails rolling your eyes at guards can be a charge of disrespecting an officer or disorderly conduct. Not going to work or class is a charge, unless medical says you are too sick. In many facilities it can take days to see medical and going costs money that most don't have. Many inmates can rack up all kinds of infractions, without actually causing anyone any harm or impacting the jail in any way, if they don't like you, you are going to be locked down and there isn't anything you can do to stop it. Just the rumor that you are going to escape or bring drugs into the facility is enough for them to lock you down, there is little to no oversight in these jails so they can just do whatever they want.

      @@LssnLrnd thanks! I've done a lot of research on this topic. The US needs to reform jails and prisons, especially their discipline policies and work requirements. I really hope that the YSL trials shine a light on the issues with the criminal justice system. This first trial was watched by a lot of people who normally don't follow court cases and therefore don't see a lot of the messed up stuff that happens in jails and prisons across this country. It would be amazing if this trial could create even a little bit of change.

    Fun fact: you are not entitled to due process in jail/prison disciplinary proceedings. If the guards say you did it (whatever it is), that’s how it stands. Melly could’ve committed 0 or 100 of the alleged 100 jail infractions for their justification for his continued detention. That’s one of the key gaslighting mechanisms from the State

    • @ab9966
      @ab9966 19 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      well the federal judge wants to see all documents, transcripts and case law to justify the 'cruel and unusual treatment'. BSO claims no DRs were written in 2024 yet Melly was transferred to Paul Rein death row and under surveillance 24/7 from May 24' - August 24'.

There is no way anyone will convict Melly of these crimes after they hear what the DA & Jails have done to him. They have treated him like an animal trying to force him to break and admit his guilt, trying to make him unalive himself. Those people are evil as all heck as well. How they could be okay with basically taking all human decency and rights away from someone who is presumed innocent until convited by a jury of his peers. That hasn't happened yet. But..he will be getting out of this, I have no doubts after how they are treating him. They no their case is weak, which is why they're trying to force with brute strength. Movement would refer to the movement of inmates throughout the jail.. It would make sense that when a civilian is traveling through the jail facility, (Attorney moving from jail entrance to a private room). During that time to restrict inmate movement would make sense to prevent any issues with an inmate trying to escape or come into contact with that Attorney. Inmates sell and share phone pins is very common. I can trade a food tray or coffee for a phone call for instance.. (Phone call is $9 or more for 15 minutes).. When that particular inmate has phone restrictions for witness tampering, yea that inmate probably shouldn't be on that phone... That's a pretty serious charge.. For that to last several years, that does seem like a bit overkill.. Almost like a human rights violation.

      This is for the original poster @jameycampbell
      He's been in jail for 6 years. Gone through a whole trial and wasn't found guilty. So why shouldn't he be out on bond now since his trial was a mistrial? His co-defendant actually looks to be the guilty one and lied on Melly if you actually read the discovery and seen the trial. So no he shouldn't be going through any of this, because at this point he hasn't been convicted of anything, but he's been in jail for years. I hope you or your family never get falsely accused of a crime and get put in jail for 6 years when you are innocent. Add to that the mistreatment and the covering up they're doing to justify it. Innocent until proven guilty and we are one trial in and they couldn't do that so hold your horses for the 2nd trial.

    This really really sounds like the CO's in the jail were lead to make his life absolute hell, so at some point he'd break and just accept a plea in order to go to prison. That does happen. Go to jail or speak to someone that's been for any amount of time, I'd bet they've heard or talked to others about how much worse jail is than prison. (County jail vs a federal or state prison).. It would make sense that if the state or DA's office had a pretty weak case, they pulled some strings in an effort to make his life enough of a hell-hole that he would do just about anything to get the fuck out of that jail.. Send me to prison! Most inmates likely wouldn't have the availability of funds to support a high class attorney for this period of time... (3yrs..+)

    11:29 - The no movement thing is a common occurrence in jails and prisons. It's when a fight occurs, or a fire, or when they count the inmates, or movement of a high security inmate. The say no movement, and everyone has to stay lcoked down in the building or area they are in, untill further notice. unfortunately i know this from my time as an inmate.
    14:28 "Paper soaked dope" is a common thing used in prisons and jails now, that's why a lot of the mail is digital. They use the jwh018 or whatever the stuff they spray on "spice" or "k2" , and instead of spraying it on spices and herbs, they spray it on paper, so they can just smoke the paper to get high.

    Ppl sharing a pin number is extremely common. Ppl making calls for other ppl is extremely common. Up here in ny, the county COs don't really care, but if someone were going to make a complaint - like lets say someone filed a complaint against me for taking/using their pin and making calls, I could get put in the box for 10, 15 or 30 days. I don't know how that would play out if a crime or further investigation took place as a result of those calls, but that's the extent of my knowledge.

      he does this for every single video on Melly no matter how many times they lied, police lied, prosecutors lied and got kicked off but still takes everything they say as fact and everything defense says as "nit picking" It's so backwards. He has presumption of innocence just as YSL does yet claims every defense claim of violation of rights, not following laws or rules of evidence as just nit picking. Apparently if you think someone is innocent, the defense is great and state is corrupt for violating rights but if you think they are guilty, state is great even if they break all laws and rights and defense is corrupt no matter what the actual facts are. Claims this new DA isn't playing yet admits they filed an appeal knowing it's going to be denied.
