Spent two years as a USN/USAF exchange pilot with VF-102 aboard the USS Independence (CVA 62) 1973-74. Some of the best years of my life. God bless all that served.
how did they talk you in to being a carrier pilot?
Lets see Marine squadrons.
Interesting Video, i was in VF14 from 1969-1971 at NAS Oceana Virgenia and on USS John F Kennedy. Line Crew F4 Plane Captain and Ground Support Equipment Technician. Still have my VF14 Patch and a McDonald Douglas Phantom Phixer Patch.
I have been collecting VF patches since 1986
Been to NAS Miramar since then
Most interesting Colonel thanks
Great video; Sir! Thanks ! a lot of naval aviators didn’t like the top gun movies 😆
The best book ever made os the Japanese US NAVY VF patches
With a free patch inside
I was on the USS Shangri-La and flew F-8 Crusaders. Also on the Shangri-La was VF-62 who also flew the Crusader.
super cool
@@veteransmedalsworkshop-moa4376 You never put in our patches for VF-13 or VF-62
Serving in the navy during Vietnam and attached to VF-154 the Black Knights, aboard the USS Ranger for two Westpac deployments from 1967-69, I was disappointed that our patch was not shown and how VF-154 came to be. How about doing the rest of the Navy squadrons.
will try!
What about Navy VA and VQ and VP squadrons ?
VF squadrons protected their candy asses
How about Marine Sgd.
Lol thank you but we knew that since 1986
How about vf 142 ghost riders
may do the Marine squadrons, let me look up the ghost riders.
With all due respect to the Marines, I would rather see a video on Navy Attack squadron patches. To paraphrase General Curtis LeMay: "Fighters are more glamorous, but bombers are more important!".
I couldn't watch past a couple minutes. Couldn't listen to him saying "Vee Eff Dash One." I've never heard anyone pronounce the dash before.
Ha, Ha, you got me! Now I know better. Thanks for the heads up!
