Have you ever encountered the 60's Pifco Guardlite torch? It's plastic with a transparent red head to double up as a beacon/torch. It also had a cream cowel around the head with slots all the way round. You can find a picture of it online.
DogsHead brand of Flashlights are Chinese but from the 1930's actually there were 3 large Mfg companies the endcaps were embossed with animals, all kinds of them. Compared to what you may expect from Asian makers they were pretty good back in the day.
Pretty cool. Never seen any old lights from Asia other than one I have which was from Hong Kong WWII and it was British! These old lights are far and few between these days compared to several years back! Thanks for the info!
1:08 That black oval shaped flashlight resembles the ones I got. Those 3 are JEAB (Made in Sweden) They have nice colors of red and cream/ green and cream/ and blue and cream I have 2 red ones and a green. The glass lens is smaller and more round on those and the crhromed parts on yours is cream colored on mine. I also have a mag lite with 6 d cells 😁
I remember the horrible leaking carbon zinc problems in the 50's and 60's.These were mostly Ray-O-Vac and Burgess C and D cells. Would you believe it?? Ray-O-Vac STILL uses cork seals on their cheapest batteries! Great video.
The name escaped me but I looked them up, Tang Fun Kee was one of the biggest and probably the best. Eveready had a plant in India as well, a fella sells them on the bay

You Win! My collection doesn't even start until the late 60's ? I think and the star is a chrome eveready commander .
Getting harder to find these classics now… good luck with your collection!
