    Can’t stop commenting, only because I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee . But it has been sitting for four years. So do to time wise, I believe I’m going to put a new motor in , although I would love to do what you did. But I will be looking for that better head ! Thanks for such a great video thanks 🙏

    Very nice , came out great . Tyler knows what he is doing . I would have had the cylinder head completely done by the machine shop though . I have been building engines since the 70s both stock and race engines and I can tell you Tyler is good at what he does . I'm looking forward to your review on the thermostat housing and water pump. Did you put in a stock camshaft or a RV camshaft , just wondering ? Looking forward to your next video . Take care and be safe my friend.

      Moab Wheeling.. yes, Tyler definitely knows his stuff. He is very knowledgeable and a great asset for these type of projects. I agree with you, we should have had the head completely machined the first time to include the valve job and head machining. Lesson learned for sure.

    Great video. I have a 92 with unknown amount of miles. I've never rebuilt an engine without help from a buddy that is an engine builder. I'm going to give it a try. Great video!!!

    Back in the 60's and 70's we dropped off the blocks and heads (valves removed) at the machine shop to get hot tanked.
    After getting them back they were wire brushed and painted.
    Additionally we put rubber hoses on the rod bolts when installing the pistons to keep from scratching the crank and it helped guide it.

    • @jeremykopp9859
      @jeremykopp9859  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question! Yes, there are two numbers... 0630 and 0330. The 0630 is the better of the two.

    So how's it doing 2 years on? I'm having oil pressure issues and think a rebuild is in my future ;)

    Really should have replaced those lifters.....

      @jeremykopp9859  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dan Hambrick... I really appreciate the comment and great point. The reason I chose not to replace the lifters was, after examining the lifters and cam shaft, there wasnt enough wear or concern to replace them. In addition, if I replace the lifters, I would have to replace the cam shaft as well. As they both wear and mate with one another. I appreciate your comment and thanks for watching!

    Next time use heigh temp engine primer & paint. Standard paint will not last. I daily a 99 Xj Classic in stone white with 385,000+ miles. Orig trans & t-case. Axels gave out at 330,000. Engine died at 195,000 due to overheat.

      Thank you for watching. I personally put about $2500 in the rebuild. It can be done for much less but, I had some machining done, went high end with additional accessories etc.
