It's not necessarily a positive song, which i think most people miss. Its about someone who's afraid to be vulnerable and is breaking on the inside all the while hiding behind a facade of confidence

it was a duran duran song, and I'm glad this is a cover because this track seems too far out of REDs typical metal genre and 9 or 10 steps too far into the pop genre. a lot of this album is far more "poppy" than their other stuff. Even "Gone" is more poppy than most of their stuff. In "Gone" guitars and drums take a back seat to all the electronic sound, not to mention there isn't a single scream in it, and then the two remixes(of gone) on the deluxe album are like 100% electronic. I definitely don't dislike this album but i feel like the wrong songs on it are getting the attention. Fracture; Step inside, the violence; Losing control; Still alive; A.I.; Chasing your echo all feel very "RED"-like. Even The mask slips away and Coming apart have the same feel of their past softer songs.

Although I wouldn't say they did better, I do like their take on the song. Plus, the other version of this cover on their deluxe edition of "GONE" is a lot more slower and less synthphonic (which isn't a bad thing) than this version.
