Just got mine for $175 at HD in Littleton. Drove two hours for it. There’s no nearby HD to where i live. Display was last one, and I didn’t have to throw out any box or packing materials! Great video by the way! One of the best explanations of any product out there.
I got the last one at that $175 clearance price as well today! I can definitely justify the buy at that sale price
@@Mantequilla1876was yours on display too if yes did they give you anything else off
wow that's cheap
This was the most informative videos I've ever watched.. and the organization and functionality of that closet is a work of genius!!
Hi. Great looking shop. It's so functional. It's exactly what i want in my truck. A safe ,effective and functional cleaning I g service. Thank you.
Excellent review! All I need to make sure this air compressor performs well with the tornador
I bought mine 2 weeks ago, finally tried it out this past weekend. I let the tank fill up and set the output to 90 psi. When I used the gun and the tank would refill, the output psi was no longer at 90 but either higher or lower between 70-100 psi. Went to ask the “experts” at home depot and they said I need a bigger compressor for detailing (no help)
Its almost like they made this for the tornador mobil detail/mechanic field technicians! Little beast ! I think ive made up my mind on which compressor i will go with after a week of researching and watching videos
thank you for the detailed review. i have to wait for a sale. it’s now $400 USD.
I use this compressor for all my mobile detailing jobs. Honestly it works ok i find myself having to wait for the compressor to catch up with me working with my tornador
Thank you so much for this video this really helped me a lot setting it up and all great video ❤️🙏🏾
Thank you for the demo. As of 7/31/2024, the unit is $349 in Fuquay-Varina, NC. I wonder when they go on sale.
Now to wait for that great sale at Home Depot 😅😅😅
It's at $350 now
I use it for construction & works great
Just bought mine for $175 also in VA. It’s on clearance.
What size air hose is that? I know the connection is 1/4 but the actual hose size? Thank you!
I bought this compressor recently and finally used it with the tornador. I have the output psi set to 90, use the tornador gun, tank refills but then the output does not go back to the 90 psi, it is either higher or lower (70-100) even with the regulator knob locked in place. Not sure if it’s user error or not since it’s my first time using a compressor and tornador combo but I’m following the instructions on the manuals. Any of my fellow detailers using this combo that has experienced this?
Same mine doesn’t keep up with the tornador
Same here!! He must have gotten a unicorn.
Anybody Can answer this?? Same mine, i just use the tornador until the compresor start fill again and keep the output but take me time in detail a car
When I drain the air with the bottom valve came out water mix with dirt (or something black) in case a lot water other case not much, its normal?
looks awesome, thanks, .Im in edmonton, its currently at $450, I'm sure it will go on sale soon.
Definitely a nice piece. I’ve got a 20 gallon that is also 4 cfm @90 psi. 150 max psi & 1.5hp. But it’s much larger, it is nice and quiet though. I like your Rigdid because of its compact design & plenty of power. Great video.👍
Any updates on this rigid unit? Reliability or issues?
HiQ name of the led light please!
Excellent presentation. I live in Calgary; would this compressor function in my unheated attached garage in the cold winter months ?
Thank You! Generally the ideal operating temperature for air compressors is between 10C - 25C. If your environment is not within this temperature range I wouldn’t recommend using your air compressor.
Great video, would you ever recommend buying a used version of this air compressor, I saw one local to me for half price but it’s used. Or would having the peace of mind of having the Home Depot Ridgid warranty by buying new?
Thanks! In my opinion it’s best to buy new for peace of mind and warranty, just like you mentioned.
@@DetailProjectsthanks for the input. I agree, new would just feel good and who knows how the previous owner took care of it and probably never drained. Do you empty and drain your unit each time?
I do, and it’s best to always keep your drains open at all times when you’re not using the air compressor. This prevents corrosion.
What size hose should I use 1/4 in or 3/8 in? Thanks
I use the 3/8 it gives a bit more flow but 1/4 will be fine
I just bought this guy, I see in a comment you say you use 3/8 line, are you just using an adapter from the compressor and the hose? How would that affect the flow
It’s great, just need a quick connection that’s all
@DetailProjects How loud is it in db? This really looks nice and compact. Also, where did you buy your cabinet?
The air compressor is 77db, and it’s much more quiet and most air compressors. The cabinets and the air compressor are from Home Depot. It’s the Husky storage system they sell.
@@DetailProjectswhy use a 3/8 air hose vs a 1/4 air hose?
More airflow, plus it was really hard to pass on their sale price.
@@DetailProjectsThanks. I was afraid my 1/4 hose wouldn’t do the job. Thanks for the response.
How do i get this to italy? There is nothing compared to this here, the ones that compare are larger and way expensive
Hello. How long is your air hose? Do you find that the longer the air hose the more you lose power?
You don't lose power with longer hoses.
Link for the air hose reel ?
To my knowledge they sell this reel in Home Depot stores only
Is it possible to expand the tanks with a larger external tank?
Yes
Sorry maybe I missed it but how long can you use the tornador for before it needs to be recharged?
Typically you can use the air gun for around 20 seconds before the air compressor kicks in, however with this air compressor you can still keep using your air gun while the air compressor is filling back up. You don’t necessarily need to wait.
@@DetailProjectsi have this issue where the air drops down and it doesn’t run constant
How many watts would my generator have to be?
it takes 14.5 amps which is 1,740 watts. From what I've been reading, most mobile detailers want 3,500+ watts. If you are only running on device at a time, I don't think you'll need anything greater than 2,000 watts or so. Make sure you get the proper gauge extension cords for these too.
How tall it's?
19” tall
