when you unweight off the bottom, you need to instantly get off that heelside rail that will give you a burst of speed up the face, even in small waves like this
@@renzyyy it helps that you have lots of footage of yourself, to compare with others... watch other videos of people on shortboards and in similar waves, that are performing at a higher level than you are, and really critique their body mechanics as compared to yours, as well as their positioning on the wave as well, slow down the footage etc... you can progress really fast this way. i would also recommend sticking with one board exclusively... its a LOT easier to go from a shortboard to a longboard, than vice versa... and once you get to a higher level both fitness and proficiency you can switch it up a bit... lol I'll shut up now...
yeah late summer the water gets warm enough to go in board shorts. we don't get so much summer surf though, less systems come through. fall is best with warm water and cooler more dense air that forms the waves easier from the wind

yah, sheboygan & lot of other places on the great lakes have pretty good surf scenes as far as i know! nothing like hawaii of course!!
