  • It's getting colder and darker. I decided to paint a free chosen subject after several commissioned paintings. It's going to be a watercolor from an alley, not far from my studio. When this one is finished I start another commissioned watercolor, from The Royal Concerthall in Amsterdam.

New subscriber, I came across your channel this morning. I’ve wanted for a long time to find a great artist, especially watercolor artist, that I could just look over their shoulder and see what goes into their artwork. Well I found it! I watched several newer videos but I wanted to jump back to #1 and go forward.
The contrast between your light and darks especially in the shadows really caught my attention. It makes your painting stand out. Beautiful work Titus! I’m glad I found your TH-cam channel and IG. I’ve looked a long time for this type of channel. Thanks & stay well! Brian

I stumbled upon your videos at around #40 of the series and I immediately fell in love with it. So here's me watching the whole thing starting from #1.

ik vind het heerlijk om hem aan het werk te zien, de rustige focus, het gevoel voor licht en kleur, voor schaduw….prachtig en inspirerend

I really appreciate your artistry…subject matter,…where you live..I wish you would set your camera up in a right angle to the work…perpendicular…when you shoot it from the side it and your easel is at 30 ro 48 degrees, the painting distorted…out of sink …😊thanks

    Hi
Thank you for letting me know what easel your using.I have just ordered mine i am looking forward to using it.
I love the watercolour wet into wet your painting i am learning such a lot from watching your videos.
Would you mind telling me what size the Da vinci brush you bought please i have been looking for one like this for a detail brush.
I am also interested in knowing how big the square painting size is that you do.I prefer the paintings in this way they look so much more alive to me.
Thank you so much for putting in so much of your time to making the videos
    Best Wishes Lynda

Hi Titus, been hoovering up your videos for a couple of days. Beautiful and inspiring work. A quick question, I see you using white paint for highlights. I also see you sometimes (but it seems rarely) leave white page unpainted. Do you 1. Ever scratch back? and 2. Use masking of any kind, tape, fluid?

Hi Ray, thank you. I actually only use a few bright colors in quache and sometimes leave the white paper open. I didn’t use any other methods yet. Personally leaving the paper open is the best. But in a hurry it is not always possible
